After the messenger returns to the Blackwood camp, several moments pass without anything happening. Then a sizable group of workers walk out to a spot between the two camps and set up a canopy, flying the banner of parley. Servants bring food and a couple of boxes under the canopy, before returning to their camp. Lords Blackwood and Umber ride forth with two knights, awaiting Lord Edmure's response.

"God damn it, I can't see anything. How many of them are there?" Edmure says
"Four, milord. Blackwood himself, a huge man wearing Umber colours and two other." A scout replies.
The Greatjon, of course. Blackwood must have released him from the Freys dungeons.
"Strongs, Goodbrook, with me. We ride to meet them."
And thus the four men make their way to the place chosen for the parley.

As they arrive, the men are greeted by Lord Blackwood with a courteous bow. He unbuckled his sword and handed it over to one of his accompanying knights.
"Lord Tully, thank you for accepting my invitation. You've met Lord Umber before, when we fought under Robb Stark's banner against the vile Lannisters. Now, let us sit and break bread and salt together. I respect the ancient traditions of the guest right, not like the treacherous and scheming Lord Walder."
Tytos poured some wine in a goblet and offered it to Edmure as a sign of peace, before filling another for himself.
"Though I've been in the field for quite some time now, my lord, news have reached me of my arrest warrant. Though I am a dutiful bannerman of House Tully, I'd appreciate if my lord were to tell me what my charges are before surrendering to your authority."

The Greatjon grunted as a greeting. Blackwood was a wanted men it seemed, interesting the greatjon thought. Affairs had been flying past him it seemed.

The two Strongs, Duncan and Denys, were present. Their armor no longer had any hints of being mercenaries nor Golden Company. However what remained of their golden rings decorated their metal armor. Their tunics had the colors of their house which would be familiar to those present. Duncan and Denys kept silent during this time as Edmure and Blackwood spoke.

The Greatjon spat on the floor, hating the silence that had fallen. He grunted and took a sip of water. Wondering what the hell was going on.

Somewhat unexpectedly, Brynden Tully arrived to the sight of the parley, looking much better equipped than he had in his time among the Brotherhood Without Banners. A light grey cloak draped over his shoulders, partially covering a sturdy steel breastplate and bright coat of mail. A castle-forged blade hung at his side, and his shield had been rather hastily painted to bear his own crest, the leaping Tully trout, painted in sable. His face had been shaven clean once again, and his hair had been trimmed down to a manageable length, though the last couple years had seen it at last come fully to grey - it feel in steely ringlets to his shoulders.
"Good to see you nephew! It's been some time since I swam my way out of Riverrun." He called, oblivious or uncaring of the tension in the air as he came to stand alongside Blackwood.

Edmure grits his teeth as he listens to Blackwood speak. A habit he picked up from his time spent with Stannis. He doesn't even acknowledge the goblet of wine being offered to him "You went rogue. These 4000 swords you command, they were assigned to you for a purpose: take the Twins, retrieve the Freys and hand them to me for judgement. I wake one day in King's Landing with news that you had pillaged the castle and executed those you considered guilty, made several men take the black and forced innocent women into a life of service to the Seven."
His face was getting red. The mere mention of the charges made his blood boil. He had been made to look like a fool. He would not stand for that. "Not only that, but you ignored my summons and you marched the men I gave you, not even your own levies, to this place. With what purpose? I don't know. I can only assume the worst, Lord Blackwood."
Tully takes a deep breathe and continues "I'll make this offer once. Take the black. Save your life and the life of those who have foolishly followed you in this quixotic crusade. Brynden will inherit Raventree, Edmund will squire for me. Your family's honour will remain intact and you'll keep your head. Generous terms considering what you've done."

Greatjon laughed aloud before looking at Blackwood.
"You went rogue?" My this was becoming mighty interesting he thought to himself, especially after Blackwood was getting blamed for killing Frey's. He'll wait a moment before coming clean about who had swung the sword.

Tytos put away his goblet and focused on Edmure Tully, a much younger lord than himself."I thought it beneath your honor to deal with the ilk of House Frey, my lord, and took it upon myself to exact justice in your name. And I did not pillage the Twins, you can talk to the new Lord Darry about the looted vaults and ransacked quarters. Nevertheless, the purpose of this supper was to present you with gifts, and here they are." Tytos moved over to the boxes at the side of the canopy. He opened them one by one, revealing the severed heads inside."Lord Walder, the arch traitor of House Frey. Lothar the Lame, one of the main plotters behind the Red Wedding. Ser Raymund, the man who slit Lady Catelyn's throat open. Ser Whalen, who killed Robb Stark's dire wolf companion. Black Walder, who killed a member of House Vance. These heads I present to you, my lord, and the honor of their rightful judgement and execution. Their crimes were well-known, for they showed no grief in proclaiming their deeds to the world. As for the rest of House Frey, they are still with my army and I'll hand them over if you wish. For the grave dishonor that they inflicted, the extinction of their house felt like the necessary response. But if my lord has other plans, I will defer to your judgement." He moved back to the table, looking back at the castle on the other side of his camp."As for my business here, I guess you haven't yet heard the latest news. After the Red Wedding, the Riverlands surrendered to the Lannisters, except for Raventree Hall. Jonos Bracken thought it a mighty fine time to greedily take my lands from me, and besieged my castle. My son, Robert, died during the siege. I only surrendered after Jaime Lannister showed up with an army and promised the return of my son Lucas' bones. Yet Bracken was rewarded with Woolhedge, Crossbow Ridge, Buckle, Lord's Mill and Honeytree. Now that King Stannis has declared the spawn of Cersei Lannister bastards, Bracken's claim to these lands are annulled. I am here to right the wrongs of an unlawful dynasty." Blackwood turned back to Edmure, giving him a sad look."I've little intention to take the black, my lord, for I see not how I've dishonored you. The heads of those behind the Red Wedding are yours, and the rest of House Frey have yet been sent to the Wall or the Faith. Despite the chaos of the last two years, I am still a loyal servant of House Tully, and wish to continue to do so for several more years." Greatjon laughed aloud before looking at Blackwood. "You went rogue?" My this was becoming mighty interesting he thought to himself, especially after Blackwood was getting blamed for killing Frey's. He'll wait a moment before coming clean about who had swung the sword. Blackwood smirked and shook his head at the Greatjon."Nothing of the sort, Lord Umber. How could I deny you the right of taking the heads of your traitorous jailers?"

But soon the color returns; he had seen much worse at King's Landing. He would not allow one of his vassals to treat him like a child. "Did you really took the job to disembowel and embalm the heads just to pull this theatric trick? You are not only arrogant but also tasteless." Edmure retorts "Then again you intend to reclaim what is not yours to reclaim with swords that are not yours to command, you once again override me. You come here to deliver what you consider is justice. Who gave you that right? I am the Lord of Riverrun, I am your liege. And if you can't understand that, then you'll have to face the consequences."
Tully prepares to ride back to his camp "You insult me and disdain my authority and act like no harm's been done. You must think me spineless, Blackwood. I am not. If you are not delivered to me in shackles by dawn, I'll crush you and whomever stands by your side. I have Raventree surrounded. If you try to escape, I'll make sure your it is your family who'll pay for your crimes."
And thus Lord Edmure leaves. ---- As soon as he arrives at his camp, he orders his army to position itself surrounding Blackwood's. They outnumbered him 3 to 1.

The Greatjon scratched his head, being ignored by Tully whom he had fought with no less under the King in the North, Robb Stark. What a strange state of affairs. The Greatjon would sleep on it and see what happens.

Brynden watched Edmure storm off and shook his head sadly, turning to Tytos.
"Too much time spent with Stannis Baratheon it would seem. The man won't flinch from his sense of justice for anything, and it's clearly rubbed off on my nephew."
His arms were folded across his chest as the last Tully banner disappeared around the corner.
"What do you plan to do? I can go speak to him, for whatever good it will do. See if I can make him rethink that fool offer of you taking the black. I imagine it will still necessitate surrendering this land to Bracken though. Or at the very least leaving it to his judgement or something so he can feel important. Edmure is made for following other men, not leading."

Tytos sighed as Edmure and his retinue rode off. He had hoped to smooth things over as best he could, but his lordship was prickly. No doubt his time spent in Lannister captivity had not done wonders to his confidence. Lord Blackwood turned to the Blackfish.
"I'm in no mood to bow to his stubbornness and go to the Wall. The Freys were dead no matter who swung the sword, yet it irks him to not be the man to carry out the sentence. Can't say I blame him, what I wouldn't give to have been the one to kill Hosteen Frey. But I won't be remembered as an oathbreaker and a rebel. Ser Brynden, I would be in your debt if you spoke to Lord Edmure on my behalf. If you return empty-handed... it's been an honor to fight alongside you."
