And I know that Devan, nor any of us, mistreated Edmure and his wife while they stayed here.Lucion says, rubbing his chin as his mind begin to think. Edmure would certainly make Stannis know that we aren't all bad and that may allow us the means to enter in Baratheon's support. The Lannister nods his head a few times, thinking further on it. Martyn is no Tywin and nor was Kevan a Tywin. The Westermen nods in agreement. A sound idea, Walder. I think we should definitely consider that as an option once you are knighted and granted the Lordship of Darry's deed. Before more could be said, a sentry burst into the tent. When Lucion made an inquiry, the sentry stated that a Ser Justin Massey had come to speak with him. An emissary? But from whom? It took Lucion a moment to recall the name! Justin Massey was once a squire in the service of Robert Baratheon and was known to have fought under Stannis! Lucion orders the sentry to bring Ser Massey to him. He turns to Walder. The Seven favor Martyn it seems. "Indeed. They were treated fairly"Said Walder. Edmure felt the terrible burden of boredom, but not a single of his red hairs had been touched. "And it would cover our flank, think about it, not having to trouble about the road to the Rivers, no Robb burning our homes again"He lately felt that he had to state the obvious, but his mind gained speed and he realized many would have a hard time catching up. "I cannot wait for that moment, handsome lordship"And Walder turns to Massey. "Merry coincidence" "Coincidence, or the will of God?" Massey stepped up to the pair with a smile. "Or the gods, if you'd like. I'm not here to fight any of you over religious matters. The one true King accepts devotees of the Seven and the Old Gods into his service all the same so long as they're loyal and true, and in any case, I did not come as a missionary.""I am Ser Justin Massey, a servant of His Grace King Stannis Baratheon. He has dispatched me here to win the armies of the Westerlands to his cause, though I'm sure you could guess as much from the moment I gave you my name and the name of my liege." Having introduced himself, Justin continued, "When I first landed on the shores of the Westerlands, Lord Gawen Westerling updated me on the goings-on here. He told me that at present, no lord sits in Casterly Rock, and only a fraction of the West's strength has elected to stay with Daven Lannister at the side of the so-called 'Dragon' that presently occupies the capital. The rest apparently went home and are adrift, essentially leaderless and directionless, trying to make sense of their situation, despite the fine look of your many banners which I saw outside and the orderliness of your camp."The exiled heir to Stonedance looked from Lucion to Walder and then back. "I take it, my good man, that this is a situation which you have been trying to rectify as of late?"

Justin would likely show that. Well... I guess there is little to say then.Lucion couldn't think of much else to mention. Support is strong with my cousin, Martyn, and he isn't a child at least. The Westerlands are sick of absent Paramounts and child rulers, that seems plainly obvious. The Lannister knew who he could count on for Martyn's support beyond Walder here. I support Martyn Lannister, so does Walder here, while my father supports the absent Myrcella. Tommen was offered back to us by Aurane Waters, but that did not change the support for Martyn Lannister. He is still viewed as a child and would require a long regency too. Which would your liege want to see on the seat of the Rock?It was likely obvious, but Lucion wanted to hear what Justin had to say instead of assuming.

"Aye, the situation is a mess all on itself, ser"
Said Red Walder, tilting his head.
"We need a man who can use his balls and pop more lion cubs out his loins, not a child. Least so a lass that can hand the keep to a viper"
He looks at the Baratheon mad with sharp eyes.
"I'm Red Walder, Walder Frey"

Massey grinned jovially, unconsciously rocking on his heels with excitement. "Lord Gawen told me that he, too, supports this Martyn's claim. And after he explained to me Martyn's relation to the late Tywin Lannister, as the latter's eldest surviving nephew by the eldest of his younger brothers, I have no doubt whatsoever that King Stannis will recognize Martyn as the rightful Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, as well. His claim must rightly come ahead of that of any other Lannister known to be alive, as surely as Stannis' own comes before that of his daughter Princess Shireen or his late brother Renly." He clapped his hands together. "That I appeared here just so we can all agree on this - no coincidence, I'm sure of it. Truly, an act of the divine." Well, maybe not. Justin was not as much of a zealot in the fires of the Lord of Light as his peers. But it was hard not to believe this fortuitous meeting may have indeed been a miracle, when the Lord of Light had given Stannis victory against all odds and even raised the dead as of late. "As to the case of Myrcella-called-Baratheon..." Justin grimaced slightly at that, and stopped rocking. "I'll be frank, ser. The King does not and will not recognize her claim to anything. If he were to recognize her as the legitimate heiress to Casterly Rock, well, he'd never have claimed the Iron Throne in the first place. And even if she were to be considered for the Rock, well the laws of the Seven Kingdoms are clear. No girl can come before a man." Massey did not exhibit any discomfort at that. It was simply how things were, in his eyes, and the seven realms had bled enough from the Dance of the Dragons to make it so. "Walder...Frey?" He turned with astonishment to Red Walder when the latter identified himself, meeting his sharp eyes with ones full of surprise. "I must admit, I wasn't expecting to meet a Frey in the Westerlands. I must also admit that my knowledge of Lord Walder Frey's descendants, and who those descendants married and sired more descendants with, is not exactly exhaustive." He supposed there was a Lannister in there somewhere, if this particular Frey was here of all places. "Were you here to...guard Lord Edmure Tully, perhaps?" If that were the case, this Frey had not been successful, obviously. Tully had somehow escaped long ago and turned up in the North even before he himself had shown up with the Essosi sellswords.

All my life I spent on the Rock, squired to here Ser Lucion"

If that were the case, this Frey had not been successful, obviously. Tully had somehow escaped long ago and turned up in the North even before he himself had shown up with the Essosi sellswords. Lucion could see that this was what they needed. Aegon supported Myrcella's claim, Stannis supported Martyn's claim. This would be enough to force the issue upon Damion and install Kevan's third son as Lord Paramount of the West. With that done, the leadership would need to be united around those trusted by Lucion and begin to raise new banners to prepare for their fight against Aegon the Pretender. Stannis was in the Vale, it was only a matter of time. However, there was something else to mention. There are two details I must state to you, Ser Massey. He raises two fingers to the knight. Martyn Lannister is betrothed to Marissa Frey, second daughter of Merret, who is a son of Walder Frey. She is a good lass, better than her sister, Amerei, and should not be painted with the same brush as her grandfather. This was arranged by Devan with Lord Baelish, but the union has yet to happen. Would this union be acceptable to Stannis Baratheon? After all, it was unknown how Stannis viewed the Freys. Unions with them were viewed as a liability after all. There was word that Edmure Tully was with him, but it was hard to tell since the man is married to a Frey too. Second, Martyn was originally to be Lord of Darry, inherited from his brother, Lancel. However, it is a title he will be forfeiting to Walder, his cousin, in order to rule the Westerlands. This title was secured for him on behalf of Devan's emissary with Lord Baelish. The title was confirmed as a result of the diplomacy.Lucion gestures to the soon-to-be knight. Walder Frey was but a boy when the Red Wedding happened. He is not a vicious man nor is he an idiot. Can Walder Frey have his inheritance of Darry be secured and confirmed by Stannis' authority? He has been a good squire and will soon excel as a knight. Gaining his loyalty will likely serve well with the future of the Riverlands and with Stannis Baratheon.Lucion wanted to know of Justin's word on this since the man knew Stannis Baratheon best among the three of them. Once answers were given, if they were acceptable, their move could begin against the Rock.

"I think you're better suited to answering that question than I am, 'Red Walder'." Justin had answered with a small smile. "I've never met this Martyn, after all. But I'm willing to take your word on his qualities."
"No Frey who is untainted by the Red Wedding has anything to fear from King Stannis." Massey replied to Lucion's first question reassuringly, with a firm nod. Truthfully, all men had cause to fear Stannis to some degree - he himself was at times intimidated by the gloomy and unforgiving King - but those who had done nothing deserving death wouldn't have to fear it coming from Lightbringer or the pyre, in his experience. "The King is a hard man, but I have never known him to be anything less than truly and utterly just. He is ruthless to those who break laws and forsake their oaths, as I am sure you've all heard, but will not smite the innocent." He turned to look squarely at Red Walder. "If you are concerned about his wroth, for yourself or for this Marissa Frey, you need not be. I swear it on my honor as a knight."
On the matter of Darry, the knight of spirals placed a fist under his chin, looking thoughtful. "I was not empowered to grant lordships in Stannis' name, I fear. But regardless, Lord Baelish has already bent the knee - hence why the King is in the Vale as we speak. And if there's no one else who could claim Darry..." He momentarily looked up to the tent's ceiling as he rocked back and forth on his heels, thinking. If Stannis was going to install Martyn in Casterly Rock, he wasn't likely to give him Darry too - it'd needlessly empower the Westerlands - and House Darry was already extinct so they weren't an option either. Perhaps that left Walder as both the closest and most logical successor to the place. "If you are willing to demonstrate your loyalty to him in the coming war with the false Dragon, I believe he'll be receptive to upholding Baelish's terms, yes." Justin finally answered, nodding to Walder. This same King had named a lowborn smuggler Lord of the Rainwood for his loyal service not that long ago, how bad was a Frey Lord of Darry by comparison if the latter had proven himself worthy too? And at least it wasn't Maidenpool, which Massey had been promised in the event that the Mootons didn't bend the knee.

"He's a man of honor, neither the brightest nor the strongest: but, in troubled times honor runs scare; my own grandfather and kindred are a show of that"Walder added, tilting his head slightly, contrite. Oh, so, Baelish yielded the Trident? Has Stannis granted it back to uncle Ed?
"The Darrys are but gone. My sword is his as are those of my men if I'm to claim the lordship. I'm not my grandfather, neither my cousins, even if we share name, I'm to be a knight soon and I will raise my eventual banners to king Stannis, because the West and the Rivers marched to kill the dragons and we're not to serve one"
Said Frey with conviction. The remaining half-Darry Freys were of no concern to him, even if two of them were his own blood: Ty and Will. "As would-be Lord of Darry, I bend my knee to him, with you ser as his proxy, let it be known that a Frey has honor and that he serves the rightful king"I'm pouring honey into this one's ear. Let's hope is worth it, else I end hanging from the end of a rope."But, I also want mercy for my nephews, Tywin and Willem, and my brother, Lyonel, and mother Lady Genna, they have no blame same being Tywin's kin"

"But, I also want mercy for my nephews, Tywin and Willem, and my brother, Lyonel, and mother Lady Genna, they have no blame same being Tywin's kin" Lucion's eyebrow went up slightly. Walder, do you not forget something? Willem, your nephew, is a page of House Marbrand at Ashemark. He turns to Ser Massey. We recently received word that Riverrun has fallen and the Freys there have been hung and executed. Some brotherhood of bandits that has festered within the Riverlands did the deed. Emmon Frey's branch of the family is all but dead if the report is true. Walder and Willem are likely the only surviving children of Emmon and our cousin, his wife, Genna Lannister.Lucion knew that this was rather hard upon Walder. Perhaps this was why he sought to gain new lands for Riverrun would surely go back to Edmure soon enough. "I think you're better suited to answering that question than I am, 'Red Walder'." He did not contort it to serve his purpose, but obeyed it to the very degree that the law served the Seven Kingdoms. With these answers satisfactory, Lucion turns to a guard. Bring my cousin, Martyn Lannister, to my tent. The guard bows and departs. Once my cousin is aware of what has transpired, we can move upon the Rock and have it secured for him. The pressure of force should be enough to make my father bend. He is an old lion and never been a fighter. He is good at counting coin, managing a castle, and taking care of the land, but nothing else. And, with what few houses on his side, the able commanders he could call upon are in short number.Lucion turns to Justin. "As I said before, Walder, the innocent have nothing to fear from Stannis." Justin repeated himself, abridged. "If like you, they had no involvement in the Red Wedding - and I assume that's true of your nephews, at the least, if they're younger than yourself - then the King will assuredly do them no harm, of that I'm certain. Simply being born a Frey or a Lannister isn't against the law." The Smiler smiled once more.
Massey's grin fell off his face when Lucion pointed out the fate that had befallen the Freys in Riverrun. Ah, so that was why this Walder might be concerned for his kin so. Perhaps there were some to whom being a Frey or a Lannister was a crime worthy of death, after all. "My condolences for your loss." He said honestly. Losing a father wasn't easy, Justin had learned that for himself when his own father was cut down at the Blackwater, but the possibility of losing one's entire family was worse still. It'd be enough to make even hardened warriors and lords contemplate surrender or flight.
"Sounds fine to me, Ser." Massey had answered, when Lucion turned the topic to his preparations to place Martyn Lannister in the Rock over his old man's objections. "Would you prefer that I come along with you, or stay here?" By the way Lucion had described his father, it didn't sound like any fighting was likely, and in any case as Stannis' envoy Justin himself needed to stay alive to bring the fruit of his diplomacy to the King. But if it should occur, they might need every sword they could get, including his own.

Your participation would, at least, affirm the actions done here. Something to report to Stannis Baratheon.
Lucion says before the guard returns, bringing with him a young man of sixteen years. His cascading golden locks were almost down to his shoulders now and the young male had his father's green eyes. Unlike his broad shouldered father, he had a more average build, albeit with some muscle formed from squiring under a Westermen knight in the services of Ser Lucion. Martyn was definitely more handsome than his bald father. With age, it could likely grow in stature and prowess. His eyebrows were sharp, but his facial expression seemed plain. Lucion knew why, the boy had lost a twin and a father, both murdered, within a year. His older brother, Lancel, was nowhere to be seen, having joined the Faith Militant. With experience, Martyn had potential.
Martyn, my cousin.
Lucion rises, motioning the young male over to where Justin Massey and Walder Frey were. Martyn had a stride fit for a nobleman, keeping good posture and an air about him. He was the son of Kevan after all. Despite this, he still seemed to remember family and give those older than him their due respect. As such, he gave his greetings to both Lucion, his supporter, and Walder, who was closer to being a knight than he was. However, when he turned to Justin Massey, he wasn't sure who this man was. As such, his Lannister cousin spoke up.
Martyn, this is Ser Justin Massey. He is a knight in the service of Stannis Baratheon.
Martyn, who wasn't timid, but just more quiet than usual, turned to Massey.
Ser Massey.
He said, politely acknowledging the visitor. Lucion continued talking after that.
Stannis Baratheon, according to Ser Massey here, is looking for a Lannister to support his cause, someone to rule the West when he is united the realm once more. He will not aid your cousins, Tommen or Myrcella. He desires to make them bastards and without anything to their name. As a result, his support will fall upon you. He will legitimize your rule over the West and, in return, we must help him.
Lucion explains as Martyn turns to his cousin then back to Ser Massey.
Is this true, Ser Massey? Stannis Baratheon would support my claim over the Rock?
The young man seemed to turn more lively at this news. The plain look turning into a more joyous one within a second.

"It's true, Martyn." Justin affirmed with a vigorous nod. "King Stannis is fighting to secure his lawful claim to the Iron Throne, as the closest living heir to King Robert. I've no doubt that in turn he will find common cause with you and vice-versa, as the closest living heir to Tywin Lannister."

If you accept this, Martyn, then we can make our move.
Lucion states to his young cousin. There was hardly a hesitation. The nobility of the West, or at least a wide majority, desired to see him be Lord of the Rock.
Today, Ser Lucion. Today and we shall see the West kneel not only to the rightful Lord of Casterly Rock, but to the true Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Stannis, the First of His Name.
Martyn states. This makes Lucion smile as he turns to Walder and Justin.
This will all be over today. Your king will earn an ally in the West, Ser Massey.

Damion was counting coin, as usual for the old Steward, when a commotion rose up from below. He moved to a window and looked out to see a detachment of the army was before the Rock, demanding entry. The guards were not willing to fight their fellow Westermen, so the gates were opened as Ser Lucion, along with Walder Frey, Justin Massey, and others, who supported Martyn Lannister, rode into the Rock. Damion, slowly, made his way below to the Great Hall. His old eyes widened at the sight of Martyn sitting where Tywin once sat.
Lucion! What is the meaning of this?!
The old Steward barks as Lucion turns, revealing Justin Massey with him.
Stannis Baratheon, the First of His Name, recognizes the rightful claims of Martyn Lannister to the seat of the Rock! Bend the knee before your liege, father!
Knights of the West put their hands upon the hilts of their swords and the gazes of the nobility, in support of Martyn, glared at Damion. The old lion stumbled back slightly, feeling the strong aura of his cousin's supporters. Damion was no fighter, he was old and withering. Slowly, he looks at a couple of knights who come forth and help Lucion's father get down on his knees.
I submit... please... spare me, Lord Lannister. I merely did what I felt was right! Surely you understand.
All eyes were upon the young Martyn who gazes at his old cousin. He leans forward and extends a hand.
Rise, Ser Damion. I will not be a kinslayer, I will not have that be my first action as the Lord of Casterly Rock. I would rather the Stranger take you than my hand.
Martyn was very conscious of such an action. The Freys had killed guests and were hated for it. Damion was still respected, after all. With that, Lucion turns, draws his sword and kneels.
Hail, the Lord of Casterly Rock! Hail, the Defender of the West! Hail, Martyn Lannister!
Knights and nobles followed as they knelt, bending their knee before who they viewed was the rightful Lord of the West.
==========================
Afterwards, ravens flew across the Westerlands, with one flying for Stannis Baratheon.
