HIGHGARDENHighgarden is the seat of House Tyrell and serves as the regional capital of the Reach, and he heart of chivalry in the Seven Kingdoms. It lies on the Mander and where the Ocean Road meets the Roseroad, making it an important crossroads. Surrounded by three rings of white stone walls, with briar labyrinths between the outer and middle walls that serve to entertain guests and slow invaders. The oldest towers, squat and square, originate from the Age of Heroes. Newer towers are tall, slender and round, were built after the Andal invasion. Also within Highgarden's walls are groves, fountains, and courtyards. The sept is matched only by the Great Sept of Baelor and the Starry Sept. The castle's godswood contains three weirwoods known as the Three Singers. The palatial keep is decorated with statues and colonnades. The castle's structures are covered in ivy, grapes, and climbing roses. Highgarden is filled with flowers, singers, pipers, fiddlers and harpers. The stables have a fine selection of horseflesh, and there are pleasure boats to sail along the Mander. There are fields of golden roses that stretch as far as the eye can see. Fruits grown nearby include melons, peaches, and fireplums. A raven arrives from the field, sealed with twin roses. Garlan informs his brother that Brightwater is besieged and that it would fall soon enough, for they were vastly outnumbered. The Tyrell requests to be informed about what transpires in King's Landing and about their beloved sister's fate.

Willas was enjoying the company of his grandmother Olenna when the maester arrived. He could tell from the man's expression that something was amiss and bid him to take a seat. Olenna kept silent for once, waiting for what ill news had come.
"Dark wings, dark words, maester? Did the raven arrive from the South or the East?"
These days there were only two options. Either something had happened to his father and sister in King's Landing, or the Ironborn near Oldtown had pulled off a great victory.

"No raven, sire"
He said, somber.
"Lady Leonette miscarried a child, no more than six months old. The boy was dead on the womb, delivering it was a bloody affair"
The man looks to the floor.
"Alas, we fear that further conception is... impossible. Lady Tyrell won't be able to bear any children. I'm sorry, my Lord and Lady, there's nothing we can do. What do you want to do with the baby?"

Willas felt a chill run down his spine. The shock of the news... he could not imagine the horror and grief that Leonette was experiencing right now. Nor what his brother would when he heard the news. Words escaped him and he could not answer. Olenna jumped in and turned her gaze toward the maester.
"The babe is to be buried here at Highgarden. Send word to Garlan, but he cannot return until Brightwater Keep has been taken. When he returns we'll hold a ceremony so he can give his firstborn a name so that it may be honored as a true member of House Tyrell. And whatever that flower sniffer Lomys is doing, I want him to watch over the poor girl until she's out of danger. I will not have two deaths in my house."
Willas nodded in agreement and silently thanked Olenna for her advice. Suddenly she turned her gaze toward her grandson, which made him jump a little.
"What are you smiling for, Willas? We have work to do! It's time for you to find a wife."
"G-grandmother?"
"Your oaf of a father thinks he can marry you to a great house and secure some grand alliance. I'm not sure who he imagines would agree to that when all the great houses are dead or daughterless. We've had enough golden-haired lions for seven generations, that's for certain."
She paused for a brief moment.
If the dragon boy's words are true and he starts winning battles, we may see the Reach tear itself apart. Before that moment we need allies, good allies, if we are to survive. One strong house and many will fall in line. With your father with the bulk of our army in King's Landing and Garlan in the South, some lords will remember their stupid vows to the Targaryens before long, and see us as uppity usurpers."
Willas listened intently and finally nodded in agreement.
"I understand."
"Of course you do, you're my grandson. At least you and your sister inherited my wit, compared to your father."
The maester was dismissed and ordered to send word to Garlan of this tragedy, but to finish up at Brightwater Keep before returning.

"It shall be done, my lady"
Said the maester.
"We could stop the bleeding, but Lady Tyrell will not be able to walk or move from bed in at least a fortnight"
He added.

A message, from Garlan:
Grandmother, brother,
The Ironborn have crushed the Redwyne fleet and taken the Arbor, I hurry to Oldtown, to protect the city, our kin and the Mander,
Seven guard you,
Signed by mine own hand,
Garlan.

With the return of Olenna Tyrell and Talla Tarly, preparations for the wedding had begun at utmost speed. With the Tyrell family thrown to the wind, only a select few could attend and witness the wedding of the heir to Highgarden. Willas himself had spent the days in Talla's company, doing his best to be kind and courteous and getting to know her better. They sailed down the Mander on pleasure barges, went hawking and horseback riding, and roamed the vast gardens of Highgarden. The young couple had little say over planning the ceremony, with the Queen of Thorns taking complete control over the whole affair. Invitations were sent to the local lords and ladies not involved in any campaigns in the Reach or at King's Landing.
As the wedding day arrived, so did the guests. Willas wore splendid clothes in the green and gold of his family. Olenna, flanked as always by her bodyguards Lefty and Righty, did the same. The Highgarden sept was a large and magnificent building, able to house far more people than were invited. Hopefully it would deter from the occasion too much, Olenna thought to herself.

Melessa Florent had been in the Great Sept at Highgarden only twice before; once for her own wedding, generously hosted by Lady Olenna and then-lord Luthor, and once simply upon a visit in her youth. This was Talla's first visit. Despite Melessa's previous experience, both of their breath was taken away in equal measure. The space was massive - the rival of the Great Sept in King's Landing, and even the Starry Sept in Oldtown (which Melessa had visited only once for Rhea's marriage to Lord Leyton). Compared to the tiny castle sept that had been crammed into what available space could be found within Horn Hill's fortifications, Highgarden's Castle Sept was a city unto itself.
Ser Horace Middlebury, one of Randyll Tarly's household knights and a longtime companion, was serving as the lord of Horn Hill's proxy for the service. The veteran knight had done his best to look presentable for the occasion, even going so far as to pay a few dragons to have extra embroidery made for one of his tabards. It did not do much, but fortunately he was not the center of attention, as he entered alongside Talla. Standing near half a foot above her escort's head, she was resplendent in a gown of pale silk, laced with pearls. The ensemble was truly a testament to the effort put in by some of Highgarden's finest seamstresses. Wartime weddings could never truly compare to the splendor of those when the realm was at peace, but Melessa had done her best to ensure that it would be as much of a spectacle as possible. To save some time and effort, she had packed her own maiden's cloak away and brought it with them on the journey. It was clasped around Talla's shoulders now, the striding huntsman of House Tarly standing out boldly against the forest green cloth. She moved up the aisle towards her soon-to-be husband and the Septon who would preside over their union.

After Talla arrived at the altar, the septon began the ceremony, beginning with prayers and songs to the Seven. When Ser Middlebury removed Talla's maiden cloak, Willas placed upon her shoulder a brilliant green cloak, covered in golden thorns and roses of his house. In unison, they began the oaths.
"With this kiss I pledge my love, and take you for my lady and wife."
As the two kissed, the septon declared them "one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever", officially declaring them husband and wife. As the crowd cheered, even the Queen of Thorns smiling and respectfully clapping, Willas smiled at his newly-wedded wife.
"I beg that you excuse the circumstances, my lady. I wish that this could have been a grander event, with our families gathered and a proper feast to celebrate our union. I promise though, that will strive to be a man worthy of calling himself your husband. By the Seven I swear it."

Talla favored him with a slightly nervous smile, "I understand, and I don't mind too much. Once all this is over with perhaps we can have another celebration with more of both of our families present," she suggested, "And I promise to do the same as a wife."
