Ser Andrew Estermont The King's Cousin, the King's Man Above: the Stormlander knight as portrayed in sanguine and ink by Gorgonzo Ghirlandino, a painter of Lys.
Born 273 AC Status: Unmarried. Children: None. Ward/squire: Edric Storm (287 AC) Traits (10+1):Resilience: 5 Charisma: 3 (+1) Intelligence: 2 Authority: 1 Heritage: Andal. Core Trait: Moralistic, Bold, Humble. Birthsign: The Moonmaid (+1 Charisma). Bloodline: Noble Blood. Biography: The Turtles reign over a small island, Estermont. No-one truly remembers which was named after whom, if the Andals who reached those shores took the name of the isle or if it was the isle proper which was named after the adventurers themselves. Whatever the chicken or the egg did, the Estermonts stayed at the Stormlands, sworn to Durran’s line, even after it became Orys’ line when the dragons came and conquerers. They do have droplets of the stags’ blood here and there, like only a few others, and that was the main reason Steffon Baratheon took as wife Cassana Estermont. The aged lord Estermont, Eldon –he was born the twelfth regnal year of Maekar Targaryen- had fathered in his prime two sons and a single daughter with his first wife, the long-dead Marissa Caron. That daughter, Cassana, was to become the mother of Robert, Stannis and Renly Baratheon and thus she sired kings. The eldest son, Aemon, named after the Dragonknight -because his father was a wee lad with dreams of chivalry by the time-, would be married to a lady, Jocelyn Penrose, who died in childbirth, delivering Alyn. He remains his father’s only son, for Aemon’s subsequent marriages proved to be sterile. The second son, Lomas, was married to his brother’s wife’s younger sister, Aelinor, also daughter of a Lord of the Parchments, and he sired a son in turn, Andrew. Alyn and Andrew by virtue of their kindred became cousins to the king when Robert Baratheon usurped the throne in 283 AC, the very same year the younger Estermont was born. Lacking in close kin, the Estermonts were the only uncles and cousins the Baratheons ever had. Eventually, Andrew became a tall lad who squired for Stannis Baratheon in Dragonstone, living in his household for many years until he became a man and grew his beard. He was to be part of what were known as the King’s Men, loyal knights and noblemen that would follow their liege Stannis in his pretence to claim the crown for himself, after Robert was skewered by a boar and their children were uncovered to be but mere spawn of incest between Cersei and Jaime. Nevertheless, he kept the Seven as his gods, even if in Dragonstone the Red God swayed the hearts of many other men; however, few were as stubborn and honor-bound as Andrew, who chose to follow the faith of his fathers. He is a very tall fine-looking man, towering over many -just like Robert, Renly or Stannis- and has a long, pointy beard and bushy, brown eyebrows. Andrew is affable, honorable and easy-going, but he can be quite hot-headed and stubborn. The knight keeping his faith led to ser Davos Seaworth, the loyal and well-meaning Onion Knight, to handpick Andrew himself to scurry away Edric Storm, only acknowledged bastard of king Robert, after Lady Melisandre spoke her mind about burning the child to use the potency of his blood to end the war by unnatural means. As the highest born and closest in kin to the lad, Andrew was to lead the party of loyal king’s men that escorted Storm out of the Stormlands and into Essos, away from the greed and zeal of the Red Lady and her hungry lord. They all set sail in the Mad Prendos, staying for a time in Pentos, then Myr and finally Lys, where they hid and remained the following months, while the realm they left plunged itself deeper into war. On the meanwhile, Ser Eldon, Andrew’s father, was castellan of Storm’s End and held the castle for Stannis Baratheon, until it was taken by the Dragon. The aged knight refused to bend the knee before the ilk of the would-be conquerors, least so to the one they said was Aegon Targaryen, and bluntly replied there was no king but Stannis, of House Baratheon. He was put to the sword like many others that had worn the Baratheon colors. Ser Eldon’s brother, Aemon, and his father, Eldon, had been sworn back to loyalty and both had said their oaths before Tommen Baratheon, the Lannister spawn sitting on the throne. However, after the Targaryen pretender took the capital the Estermonts remained in their isle, just like they did when a daring Velaryon bastard called their banners from Storm’s End, claiming to be Lord Protector for Robert’s heir. But Robert’s heir was either his brother or the bastard in Lys, squire and ward of Andrew Estermont, who did not even hear about his father’s death until a whole year passed. The young man vowed to return to the Stormlands and make amends of his death.

EDRIC STORM
'Edric Storm, they call him. He is said to be the very image of my brother. If men were to see him, and then look again at Joffrey and Tommen, they could not help but wonder, I would think.' Core Trait: Bold, Proud Heritage: Andal Birthsign: Moonmaid (+1 charisma) Bloodline: New Blood (+1 resilience, charisma, intelligence) Stats:
6 Resilience 4 Charisma 1 Intelligence 3 Authority Born in 287 AC, the natural son of Lady Delena Florent and King Robert Baratheon. In hiding in Lys, with his guardian Ser Andrew Estermont and a handful of the so-called 'King's Men'. Edric was conceived on the wedding night of his uncle, Lord Stannis Baratheon, in the couple's own wedding bed and with the bride's own cousin. Though King Robert Baratheon later claimed that he was too drunk to realise where he was during the bedding, both Stannis and the Lady Selyse took it as a slight on their honour, especially when Delena fell pregnant with the King's bastard. Edric Storm, his mother named him, weeks before she was hurriedly wed to Ser Hosman Norcross to cover her shame. Edric was acknowledged by the king as his son and fostered in Storm's End with his uncle Renly, far from his sour-faced aunt and her grudge-bearing husband. There he was educated by maesters in letters and the master-at-arms at swordplay, and though Lord Renly was often away at court, his castellan Ser Cortnay Penrose took it upon himself to raise the boy. In Storm's End, he was safe, far from the vindictive Lannister Queen, and though he saw little of his father a royal gift was sent to him every name-day. When King Robert passed on to the next life, Edric remained at Storm's End as both his uncles raised their banners to try and usurp the throne. The untimely deaths of both Lord Renly and Ser Penrose led to both Storm's End and Edric Storm passing into the hands of his uncle Stannis, who brought the boy to Dragonstone. Though the Lady Florent loved him little, Edric made fast friends with the Princess Shireen and won the favour of many of the King's knights. Unlike his cousin, however, Edric stayed true to the worship of the Seven, the gods of the absent father that he idolizes. Though unknown to Edric himself, the boy was placed in mortal danger after his blood was used in a ritual to kill the remaining Five Kings, a feat which prompted the Red Priestess to try to sacrifice him to wake dragons from stone. Fortunately, the King's Hand, Ser Davos Seaworth, placed the boy under the care of Ser Andrew Estermont and a number of other trustworthy knights. They were sent eastwards, aboard the Mad Prendos, and for the last few years the King's only acknowledged bastard has remained in hiding in the Free Cities as Ser Andrew's squire, taking employment as bodyguards and chaperones for the nobility of the city, among other jobs. As he has matured into a man, Edric has shown to hold both his father's virtues and vices, taking more of an interest in frolicking with wine and women rather than his duties. In appearance, the boy possesses the height of his father and uncles, though in his youth he is as hard and lean in frame as a whippet. He looks the spitting image of his father and uncle Renly at the same age, save for the large ears of the Florents, which usually remain covered by coal-black shoulder length hair. Also lacking is a beard, of which the smooth-faced youth is a little resentful. The bastard princeling is talented with the sword and lance and full of easy courtesy, but remains as stubborn and proud as only a Baratheon can be. He is smart and quick to learn, with all the dangers of exile only serving to sharpen the boy's wits. As Stannis once said, he is the son of a king, but forgets he is bastard born; Edric hopes that one day he can return to Westeros as a conquering hero, like his father before him. GENDRY OF THE HOLLOW HILL
Core Traits:Idealistic Moralistic Humble Andal Ice Dragon (+1 resilience) New Blood (+1 charisma, +1 intelligence, +1 resilience) Stats:8 resilience 3 charisma 1 intelligence 2 authority A blacksmith, outlaw, and now a knight. Gendry is the unknowing bastard son of the late king, Robert Baratheon. A target for the vengeance of Cersei Lannister, Gendry escaped the city with Yoren of the Night's Watch and Lord Eddard's daughter Arya. Captured and taken to Harrenhal by the Mountain's Men, he escaped in the aftermath of the castle's capture by Lord Bolton and joined up with the Brotherhood without Banners. Gendry serves and is duly knighted by Lord Beric Dondarrion, and takes the Lord of Light for his God. After Lord Beric dies to raise Catelyn Stark, he parted ways with the outlaws and made his trade as a blacksmith at the Inn of the Crossroads, doubling as a protector for those orphans of war that took refuge there. When the Lady Brienne was attacked by some of the Brave Companions, Ser Gendry saved her life, but put his past with the brotherhood behind him by choosing to stay at the inn with the Heddle Sisters and the orphans. With the war raging on, Gendry stayed at the inn as its protector even as the Freys were massacred and Stannis Baratheon marched south to defeat the dragon at Sow's Horn. As the war drew to a close and the Riverlands were once again made safe by lord Edmure, Gendry took the orphan boy Pate as his squire and left the Inn to move to greener pastures. He fancies himself a hedge knight, true to his vows to keep the innocent safe and the poor fed. With winter here, these ideals are becoming more complicated to uphold with work needed to put food in the bellies of himself and his squire. A smith has little use in peace save for beating swords into ploughshares, and after fruitlessly riding up and down the Trident both knight and squire are becoming hungry and restless for purpose.

Duncan Strong Born in 262 AC Title(s): Serjeant of the Golden Company Status: Unmarried Children: N/A Traits (10+3):Resilience: 6 (+1 from bloodline) Charisma: 3 (+1 from bloodline) Intelligence: 1 (+1 from bloodline) Authority: 3 Core Trait: Ruthless, Cynic, and Proud Heritage: Exiled Westerosi (+1 to mercenary recruitment rolls, +1 to interactions with Essosi characters and powers) Birthsign: The Stallion (+10% army speed, +1 to battle rolls when commanding cavalry) Bloodline: New Blood (+1 charisma, +1 intelligence, +1 strength) Duncan Strong is a Serjeant of the Golden Company, a man with many years of service, noted by the many golden rings upon his person. According to a story, passed down from his father and ancestors, Duncan's lineage followed the bastards of Lucamore the Lusty. Among the three branches, his line descended from the Rivers branch that survived the Dance of the Dragons. An ancestor of his, known the Knight of Rivers, joined Daemon Blackfyre in his rebellion, but ultimately fled Westeros when the revolt failed. It was his son who assumed the Strong name once more and ensured that the lineage survived. This story is a source of pride for Duncan who seeks to see the Strong name rise once more. In contrast to his cousin, Denys, Duncan is a heavier set person with an egg shaped bald head and little facial hair save for a muscle and little chin fuzz. There is muscle beneath the fat chin and rotund middle area, but he has a strong arm nonetheless. His years with the Golden Company have made him a fierce warrior nonetheless. However, fortune blew against the cause of Aegon Targaryen, the Pretender, and his fate seemed to be falling towards imprisonment or worse. Duncan, along with his cousin, Denys, hoped that fortune would swing back once more. They were determined to see their family return to the Seven Kingdoms and build anew, no matter where they could thrive, fulfilling the dreams of their forefathers.

The story told to Duncan was similar to Denys, with a few changes. A story, passed down from his father, mentioned the lineage with Lucamore the Lusty as well. Among the three branches, Denys descends from the Storms branch that survived the Dance of the Dragons. An ancestor of his, known the Knight of Storms, joined Daemon Blackfyre in his rebellion, but ultimately fled Westeros when Daemon was defeated and many Westerosi became exiles. It was his grandson who assumed the Strong name once more and ensured that the lineage survived. This was the story told to Denys who wondered if any of the Waters survived or not. Comparing him to his cousin, Duncan, Denys is a large person due to muscle and brawn. Fierce eyes are accented by the thick dark hair on his head, his eyebrows, and the facial hair that covers his dull, yet large, chin. He too is a fierce warrior from his years of contracts with the Golden Company throughout the Free Cities. However, fortune blew against the cause of Aegon Targaryen, the Pretender, and his fate seemed to be falling towards imprisonment or worse. Denys, along with his cousin, Duncan, hoped that fortune would swing back once more. They were determined to see their family return to the Seven Kingdoms and build anew, fulfilling the dreams of their forefathers.

Robin Penrose
A lad of fifteen name days sent to squire with Lester MOrrigen just following the death of Renly Bartheon. A veterar of half a dozen battles already, some say Robin is close to winning his spurs. He has seen as much combat as most knights would see in a lifetime, and even more of the Seven Kingdoms. However, a squire was not made a knight until the knight he served made it so, and he had not been deemed ready as of yet. He served Lester closely both before and during battle. He is the last surviving squire of three that set forth to King's Landing before the battle of the Blackwater. He is proficient with lnce nd mace, though his skill with a sword lacks. He is of average height and build, brown of hair and eye, though known for his keen eyesight. Ser Bronn of the Blackwater Lord Stokeworth
Born 264 AC Status: Married, to Lady Lollys Stokeworth (b. 265 AC). Children: ¿? Stokeworth/Blackwater (b. 301 AC). Ward: Tyrion ‘Tanner’ Waters (b. 299 AC). Titles: Lord of Stokeworth. Traits (10+4):Resilience: 8 (+2) Charisma: 3 (+1) Intelligence: 3 (+1) Authority: 0 Heritage: Andal. Core Trait: Ruthless, Bold, Cynic. Birthsign: The Ice Dragon (+1 Resilience). Bloodline: New Blood (+1 Charisma, +1 Intelligence, +1 Resilience). Biography:If you want me to do anything, you better ask what my price is. Life is like that. Y’all think yourselves to be so superior, you’re so entitled, your heads are far away up your arses that you don’t see the truth. The only thing that matters is a sword and a hand that knows how to handle it. That and good old coin, gold good enough to buy a better sword, to bribe whoever is trying to bugger you and get the worthy things in life: a woman with flesh on her bones and honey between her tights and a good flask of wine. Everything else is so overrated. And these you can pay in gold or in blood, so it doesn’t matter if you’re using the purse or using your blade to get into the purse. I don’t know where I was born. Probably in some brothel, who the fuck cares, not me at least, neither should you unless you want a broken nose or a few missing teeth. My whore of a mother probably dropped me or she died of syphilis. Whatever the case I remember growing amidst shit in Lannisport. I’ve smelled the golden haired twats’ sewers, it’s a foul thing, they don’t shit gold for a fact, a friend managed to prove it with the help of a crossbow. My father probably was some worthless shit, but maybe he was strong, or he was astute or he was neither and I just got lucky. When you’re a swine, like I was, you either fight or die and, oh boy, I’ve had my good share of fighting. Killed my first man before I had hair on the balls, over a stolen bag of coins. I learned from the best scum in this kingdom, from a shore to another, as I took to the roads as soon as I could. I found my fate tangled with a little shit called the Imp in an inn. That crazed woman, Lady Wolf, got us all mixed into this little war that was brewing and we went all the way to the Eyrie, where the little shit managed to get into big trouble. Thanks the Seven I was there and I have a good nose for profit. I killed one of those fancy-asses, a shit with moons on the shield and that dwarf took me as his sellsword. And oh boy, quite a road. I went from living on the road’s edge under a bush or in shitty inns to give the tumble to luscious Dornish in the Street of Silk and living in the fucking Red Keep. The Imp got me as his right hand and I employed for him the shittiest shits to have ever fucking live in the capital. During the battle against that sour motherfucker of Stannis I lit the fuck up of those fuckers and raised that big-ass chain the little shit had been making the last few weeks. Every link was as big as my chest, I swear. And for my trouble I got knighted, by that asshole of Osmund Kettleback. Surprise, motherfuckers, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater. I even got a fancy-ass painted arms, with a glorious fiery chain. The Whore Queen, that Cersei, thought she got me well when she married me to Lollys, the retarted daughter of Tanda Stokeworth. She had been raped by dozens of men in an alley. But I had no fucks to give. It’s a damn shame he had an elder sister. Had. Falyse, god-grief, you died so early. I killed her fucktard of a husband, a bitch, stabbing him in the fucking eye. And then I handed her to Qyburn. No questions asked. My mother-in-law, that dearest woman, broke her hip and died soon, of… sorrow, of course. And a cold. Shame someone forgot to tend to her. And now you see me, idiots, Lord of Stokeworth! And after my plump wife popped a child out of her oven –Tyrion I fittingly called the twat- I placed a second in there. I performed my duties admirably, I must say. The lad was born strong and large, the fucker yells like he wants to crack the ceiling. I like that asshole. I haven’t still named him, can't be bothered yet. My wife calls him Gyles, because some shit that died coughing his lungs. Who cares. I just heard he was her cousin and there’s no lord at Rosby. What a shame.

Dickon Tarly Resilience: 6 ( Heartsbane +2, Birthsign) Charisma: 3 Intelligence: 2 Authority: 2 Moralistic: Dickon Tarly had honor drilled into him by his father from a very young age, as part of his preparation to eventually take over the Lordship of Horn Hill. Now that he has done so, and much earlier than expected, Lord Dickon is even more committed to restoring the reputation of his family and proving that the Tarly's are still a house of honor. Bold: Whether it is his youth, or his training in his father's style of war, or his newfound urgency to prove his own worth and honor, Dickon has a penchant for somewhat rash action on the field of battle. In time, this tendency may be tempered with experience, but until that happens, he is likely better suited to commanding a cavalry charge than a full army. Andal Heritage: +1 to Cavalry combat rolls The Ice Dragon Birthsign: +1 resilience Noble Blood: +1 personal combat Eleanor Tarly (nee Mooton)
Resilience: 2 Charisma: 3 Intelligence: 4 Authority: 1 Cynic: After seeing the blood of her people soak the soil of her lands while kings fought over crowns, and watching her city change hands again and again, Eleanor puts little faith in the "great men" of the world and thinks little of their wars and efforts. Though she is not entirely unhappy in her marriage, even that is little more than a product of men playing at politics, and has not instilled any more hope in her. Humble: The days of the Mootons ruling as petty kings in the Riverlands are long past, and they have been little more than a footnote in the minds of many since they sided with the Dragon. Their port is wealthy, but their house is not particularly mighty in reputation, and Eleanor has little in the way of laurels to sit upon. Rolland CaronFormerly, Rolland Storm, The Bastard of Nightsong Born in 273 AC Title(s): Ser of House Baratheon Status: Unmarried Children: N/A Traits (10+3):Resilience: 6 (+2 from bloodline and from birthsign) Charisma: 2 (+1 from bloodline) Intelligence: 1 (+1 from bloodline) Authority: 5 Core Trait: Heritage: Andal (+1 to cavalry combat rolls) Birthsign: The Ice Dragon (+1 resilience) Bloodline: New Blood (+1 charisma, +1 intelligence, +1 resilience) Bastard son of the late Bryen Caron and half-brother of deceased Bryce Caron, Rolland Storm is the last of his family. Scars, from the pox, cover his face, his faith to the Seven remains strong, yet he is a loyal man to House Baratheon. He first declared for Renly, then for Stannis, and even had a hand in aiding the removal of Edric Storm, one of Robert's bastards, across the Narrow Sea. As a result, he is noted to be among the King's Men, who are led by Ser Davos Seaworth. At the Battle of the Blackwater, his command of the rearguard allowed Stannis to retreat from a disastrous situation. His brother was killed by Ser Philipe Foote, who became a benefactor of his death, being granted Nightsong for his deed. When Stannis went north, Rolland was named Castellan. He fought, with a small garrison, against the siege led by Paxter Redwyne. When the castle was broken into, his fate became relatively unknown until the arrival of Seaworth to reclaim Dragonstone for his liege. Among the dungeon prisoners, Rolland was retrieved, having survived the castle changing hands three times now. The sight of a familiar face was welcomed and to see Ser Davos, now Lord, so far south gave Storm hope that Stannis was returning to finish the war. Gilded with new armor, and a sword, Rolland has learned of what has transpired in the past couple of years. Baratheon's authority was now extending back into the Stormlands and it made the bastard wonder of a chance to claim Nightsong from Ser Foote. He was the last Caron after all. Hopefully, the Warrior, whom he worshiped immensely, would grant him strength and fortune.

HARRION KARSTARK Lord of Karhold
Moralistic, Bold, Proud First Man Ice Dragon Noble Blood Stats:Resilience: 7 Charisma: 1 Intellect: 0 Authority: 3 “Scratch a Karstark and you’ll find a Stark.”Father killed by the Young Wolf, brothers killed by the Kingslayer, sister married to a Wildling. Imprisoned thanks to the treachery of Roose Bolton and the folly of the Green Fork, in which many brave Northmen were sent to their deaths in vain. Karstark was held in Maidenpool as a ‘guest’ of the Lannisters, a comfortable cage for him to watch as his family was broken apart and the North handed over to Bolton, his sister forced to take refuge with Crows and Wildlings. Almost slain but for the turmoil in the capital, which drew the eyes of the Lannisters away from the North whilst Stannis Baratheon took back Winterfell. There he remained, a forgotten man, until the banners of the Starks came south again and Tully was returned to his seat at Riverrun. Harrion was finally free again, but was forced by honour and oath to take up the sword once more. With the bastard of Winterfell he marched to seat Stannis Baratheon on his Iron Throne, whetting his blade at the second battle of Sow’s Horn. At the siege of King’s Landing he took a wound whilst assaulting the Lion’s Gate and thus remains in the south as the War of the Five Kings comes to an end. War and grief has made the last of the Karstarks a solemn and superstitious man, clean shaven and long faced with eyes the colour of stormclouds. He’s quick to anger and good with a sword, and is known to boast that he would have cut down the Kingslayer himself if he had been at the Whispering Wood. When not dressed for war, the young lord is bedecked in furs and leather. He owns a fine sable cloak patterned with white sunbursts and clasped with a weirwood brooch.

The things that are done for love! Like starting wars and killing thousands and thousands of men and women and children. Families playing a dangerous game of thrones that none could win without bleeding. To win or to die is a dangerous bid. And, eventually Bran woke, from his crippled slumber, awakened by a three-eyed crow. But he could still not walk, Brandon the Cripple. He would never be a knight, like Aemon the Dragonknight, like the ones in the songs. But... Could he fly? That much the raven swore. He dreamed of tree, wolves and of things gone and not yet done both. The crow cawed in his head, summoning him to his side. Where? Beyond the Wall. In the Lands of Winter where there is no Hope, just Death. And he did. The boy called Brandon escaped Theon and he escaped Ramsay and all the cruel and petty men of the world. Jojen and Meera, sent by a man far smarter than one could presume, they were his companions, like Hodor, the sweet simple-minded half-giant. They crossed the Wall thanks to Sam the Slayer, the first man to even kill an Other in millennia. And Coldhands, a man of the Watch, long dead and rotten inside out, led them -Bran, Jojen, Meera, Hodor- to him. To the Three-Eyed Crow. Once he was a man too, he was far more than that -Brynden , but no longer. He was and is past and future and present all at the same time. He could be in all places and none, a thousand eyes and one. More tree than man now, lingering between life and death. The strongest trees are rooted in the dark places of the earth. Darkness will be Brandon's cloak, his shield, his mother's milk. Darkness will make him strong. And he had called for his successor, a boy that was broken, yet would fly. The winged wolf.
