The neutral cities side with Rome, seeing that resistance is futile in the wake of the Roman presence on the island.

The city of Festos stands defiant against Sulla's army and refuses to surrender. The defenders clang their spears and shields together, taunting the Romans with various Cretan expletives. While the neutral cities on the island bend to Roman will, those who have aided and abetted the pirates show no sign of surrendering. They will have to be taken, city by city, each one paid in blood.

Sulla begins constructing ladders, rams, and siege towers. Cavalry are sent out into the countryside to track down anyone associated with the piratical cause. They are to be brought before the walls of the pirate stronghold and publicly crucified. Their corpses are left there to rot in the sun. The Romans march outside the walls, battering their shields and making noise at all hours. This is done in shifts, cohort by cohort, legion by legion. The Romans are not going anywhere. Sulla lets it be known that any deserters will be handsomely rewarded, whereas the defenders will be slaughtered to a man, sharing the fate of their comrades.
The Romans send scouts out and begin purchasing supplies from the nearby neutral cities, hoping to be notified of any pirate movements.
Meanwhile, Sulla sends Lepidus with half a cohort to investigate any breaches in the wall or hidden entrances into the city. They are to report back to Sulla when this mission is completed.

After a long, exhausting search of the walls of Faistos Lepidus finally successfully finds an old, forgotten crack in the wall early in the morning. It could fit a man through one at a time if done properly. Being wary to alert others, Lepidus himself scouted the entry point and found it viable enough to haste back to the siege lines and inform Sulla of his discovery.

EDIT: If Gandy wants to do an action with the wall before this, I'm ok with that. {Pirates Only}Pirate forces of Festos: 5,000 light infantry 1,000 heavy infantry
As night settles over the city of Festos, the defenders wait until late at night before springing their plan into action. A smaller force of 100 light infantry sneak out to take care of the night patrol around camp, without alerting the Romans of their presence. If that is successful, they will rush through camp and light as much of it on fire, which will signal for the entire force will sally out and charge the Roman camp, slaughtering anyone they catch.

The Romans mass their forces on the opposite side of the wall at dusk, and make ready as if they were to attack. Half a legion remains on the side of Lepidus, where the Legate will lead twenty men through the passageway and open the gates for them.

Lepidus the Younger made his way through the crack, slaying some unsuspecting pirates who fell asleep during their watch. As Lepidus and his 20 men reach the gate, they open it and wave a torch to signal the legion. However in the enthusiasm some of legionnaires forget to maintain an eye on their surroundings. Some Pirates stumble upon the Romans while opening the gate. Lepidus and the twenty legionnaires got caught in a serious melee while the half legion made way into the city. Lepidus gauged the battlefield and pushed aside a fellow soldier who was about to get hit by a sword. Thusly he himself was hit with a sword slash on the left shoulder, prompting him to be fall on a knee to grasp for air. The other men shielded him as the legion marched into the city.
With the legion rushing into the city, alerting the pirates that the Romans are here they quickly push their units towards the opened gate. The Pirates put up stiff opposition but a push made by the Romans, perhaps made to honor their wounded commander, absolutely shattered through the pirate lines. The Romans did not press their advantage as casualties were high. The pirates had hurdled projectiles at the Romans to deadly effect.
The Romans were in the city but the Pirates made their last stand at the citadel.
520 Romans lay dead while 1160 pirates died fighting.
-1 Command Lepidus the Younger.

Sulla orders the legion to rest after their exertions as the rest of the army catches up and enters the city. Lepidus is to be bought to his command tent to rest and recuperate while the Pro-Consul takes command of the main force within the city.
The Imperator orders the stronghold looted and razed, with any captives to be sold into slavery. The unfit are publicly crucified in the town square, a message to those that defy Roman power.
Sulla's men then surround the citadel and request surrender of the garrison in exchange for their lives.

Sulla takes 13.000 denarii in loot from the city. Seemingly plucking the pirates of all their gains.
The garrison surrenders to Sulla seeing the overwhelming odds..

Though allowed their lives, they are each sold into slavery, being sent back into Heracleia to be shipped away to the markets. With Faistos fallen, Sulla dismantles the city and begins erecting the foundation of a new colony. The legions are then ordered to swiftly march eastward towards Sitia, intent on putting it under siege. Cavalry is sent out to scout in advance, as well as to round up any suspected pirates and put them to the sword. Heralds are sent to each city offering a denarii bounty for the head of every pirate.

Cinna writes a letter that with all hostile ports blockaded, he wishes to be given an opportunity to prove himself on the land with his legion VII Fulminata. Orders reach him from Sulla. He is to scout the Aegean sea, particularly around Greece, for any trace of the Mithridatic fleet. Furthermore, he is to personally negotiate with the Rhodians for naval reinforcements so that the Republic might dominate the naval theatre of the upcoming war. Once this is done, then he shall be able to lead his legion into battle. Though allowed their lives, they are each sold into slavery, being sent back into Heracleia to be shipped away to the markets. With Faistos fallen, Sulla dismantles the city and begins erecting the foundation of a new colony. MArcus Aemilius, still sore and stitched up by the medicus made his way to the command tent, he looked a bit gray but was feeling well regardless. "Salve Sulla" he said upon entry of the Imperator's make shift headquarters.
"Lepidus."Sulla rose from his seat to greet his step-nephew and grasped him by his good arm, appearing relieved. He had been worried about the young man, who to many had seemed to be on the doors of death for some days after the battle."It is good to see you well, my friend. Your bravery saved many lives once again. Five thousand denarii of the war booty shall be yours to do with as you will."It would be arranged by his slaves, of course. Money was left out of the hands of dignified men. Even ones as rich as Sulla."Now we march to Sitia, and put this cursed place behind us. I pray that this campaign is soon done, for greater glory awaits us elsewhere."
Mithridates was the prize winning animal of the day, the rash actions of Crassus relegating his own affairs to a mere sideshow.

Lepidus extended his arm to the one Sulla offered. Smiling as he greeted the great Roman general altough Marcus still had some pain he battled through. The honor of being received by Sulla and the praise he gave was enough for the young Lepidus to forget about it for a moment. "You honor me yet again Sulla" Lepidus said with respect to the man whom he owed so much. "I wish to lead the next assault as well if you'll let met" Lepidus added but he wondered what greater glory Sulla mentioned. "Where lays this glory you speak off?" Lepidus had been sleeping mostly for the past days.
