"We shall have to see what the next year brings." Agreed Sertorious, who had nonetheless made preparations of his own should the worst once again come to pass. After living through the chaos of the Saturnine Days, it did not hurt to be cautious. "I shall look forward to working with you, Drusus. May our partnership be a fruitful one."

A few days later, Publius Sulla comes to visit the house of the Livians.

Cinna returns a letter to Drusus
To the honorable Drusus
I would gladly accept such an offer. Your honesty in this world of Roman politics has intrigued me. My sister is looking forward to marrying and getting children as a matron should. I am currently touring my estates in Italia but i will soon visit you to formalize the marriage
Lucius Cornelius Cinna, legate of Legio VII

Publius is shown into the office of Drusus. He had just finished up writing letters to his land managers and other business matters.
He got up when Publius walked in and gave him a brotherly embrace.
"Publius is it so very good see you." He smiled as he stepped back. "It has been far to long, and I see the never ending slew of battles have not treated badly."

"I have not lost my other eye, at least."He joked, as he gave the other man an embrace."The Greeks were a difficult fight. Smart men, but they all know when they are conquered in the end."Said Publius, with a grin.

"I thought we conquered them a century ago?" Drusus piqued with a sly smile. "But then, we see what a few corrupt and greedy politicians can do to a populace." He added.
"Enough of drab foreign affairs however, Publius, tonight should be cause for celebration!" He exclaimed, "Bring in the good wine, Decius!" He bellowed to his steward.
"I would rather hear of your conquests, and anecdotes and stories of the men as you traveled in Macedonia and Thrace." Drusus began. "There will be time for serious business later."

"Hah, as you wish. I fought with the Illyrians, finer men other than fellow Romans I have not met. They are strong, hardy, and willing to face down any force, even thrice their size."
Clearly the legions had left quite an impression on the young officer. He helped himself to a cup of the finest Falernian.
"A centurion named Decius and myself competed for kills. Needless to say I lost, to my shame. A finer officer I have not met. As tall as a mountain and strong as an Ox."
He confessed, taking a draught of wine.
"And those Macedonian Pikes... mean things to face for the first time. Half my lads in the front line were crapping themselves." Publius chuckled. "But we got through it. Their bark is worse than their bite."

Drusus laughed more than he had in a long time during their conversation and talks that night. Le Drusus passed along humorous tales about his travels through the backwaters of Rome, literally. Of Lepidus, their old commander, and his follies and bravado. It was a good night.
After the third or fourth pitcher of wine, Drusus finally got around to his sister.
"Ah, yes and I believe there is still the matter of my sister." He began. "It is far too late now, but if you wish , I shall escort her to your house so you can get to know her before the year is out."

Publius was deep in his cups by that point, his cheeks flushed and his speech slurred after perhaps a few too many pitchers.
"It would be a pleasure." Replied Publius, with a toothy grin.
"Fear not, the wilds of Gaul and Illyria have not turned me into a barbarian. I am still a man of honour." A lie, if there ever was one. Publius Sulla had never been a man of honour when it came to women, but he would nonetheless be on his best behaviour as he met his betrothed.

"We will, good Drusus"
Soon Cinna and Cornelia would be seated with their host. While Cinna seemed to be talkative today Cornelia remained silent. She was not really a big talker.
"We are really looking forward to call yourself family."
