Being present among the Stormlander Lords, Lord Tarth would remain in the background among the subdued Stormlords within Aegon's host. When he had first heard that the Dragon was alive and the sellswords of the Golden Company, who occupied major parts of his island were actually serving under a long-believed dead Targaryen, it was hard to believe it at first. And yet, when his men and himself arrived at Storm's End he had realized that there was more truth about the rumors, as long lost exiles had returned under the dragon's banner. Jon Connington, Harry Strickland... even the former Master of Whispers Varys from what he had seen supported the claimant on the Iron Throne.
Given his former allegiances with Renly Baratheon before the Stormlander Lords were either forced under Stannis' banner or joined the Lannister's side after the death of the Lord of Storm's End, Selwyn Tarth had no reason to actually fight the invader. The Stormlands were left in a state of chaos and a Targaryen on the Throne would be able to restore balance towards the region. His concerns solely laid for the moment in Brienne's absence since the death of Renly. Since she was captured by the Brave Companions, he had barely heard anything of her other than her having it made alive to King's Landing at some point.
Well, she would some day inherit his lands, for Selwyn had barely any hope of raising another child at his age, most of his wifes having perished before. He so far trusted that she managed to stay alive, hoping that by time he would be able to talk with the selfproclaimed King from the east about this matter, should she ever get with one of the waring factions in trouble once more.
