Castra Praetoria

Built in the reign of Tiberius by his all powerful prefect, Lucius Sejanus, the Castrum Praetoria is a fortified camp that houses several divisions of the Praetorian Guard, found just outside the city of Rome itself and defended by walls of solid stone. The Praetorians number around 5000 men, equivalent to the size of a standard legion.
