Bio:
Born in the days of Augustus to the nephew of the famed tyrannicide (his namesake), Gaius has survived the reigns of six Emperors through a mixture of guile and tremendous good fortune. Having lasted through the paranoia of Tiberius and Caligula, the old Senator’s time finally seemed to be up when his wife and both sons in law (one being the famed general Corbulo) were implicated in the conspiracy of Piso to murder the Augustus. Whether Cassius was genuinely involved, few could say, but the ominous exile of him and his family to Sardinia seemed to suggest that an Imperial headsman would follow not long after, as it so often went in the days of the Nero.

Fortunately, Cassius outlived another Augustus. And another, apparently, for though Galba rescinded his forced exile, the old warhorse had himself been murdered and replaced with the charming young Marcus Otho. Now Cassius finds himself returning to Rome, putting his considerable political experience at the feet of the new Caesar in a bold attempt to secure his own status and survival in chaos of this new era.

Cassius Longinus the Younger has grown up in fear of the murderous hand of Nero, his distant cousin, who took a morbid delight in purging whatever remains of his own Julian bloodline. Cassius Longinus (sometimes called Cassius Lepidus to distinguish himself from his father) is a several times distant descendent of Augustus himself, and was likely earmarked for death had not the timely collapse of Nero's regime saved his life. He has spent his entire life in Rome, other than a brief exile on Sardinia, and is thus well acquainted with the dangers of the imperial court.

Bio:

Bio: Also known as Beccus, due to his physique, Antonius Primus is a Gallic-Roman from the city of Tolosa. It is believed that his ancestry comes from that of Volcae Tectosages that once ruled the area around the city and bordered the once fierce Aquitani tribes. His ancestry links both Gallic tribal and Roman noble together. During the reign of Nero, he was a member of the Senate, but also got involved in a conspiracy to forge a will of the late Nero, resulting in his expulsion. During the short-lived reign of Galba, he was recalled from exile and instated as the commander of Legio III Gallica and thus stationed in Pannonia during and after Galba’s reign.
