Many a number try to vie for this money, yet hand no conclusive evidence as to who. Some claim a family, others say a neighbor, no one truly have a defined answer. Yet, among those who spoke, one man steps forward. He claims that he saw two suspicious men outside the villa belonging to the Consul Lepidus, around the time of the burning. Rolled a 6.Given the string of inconclusive leads, the investigation has come to a cold dead end. sforzaThe bribe, which goes unnoticed, manages to snag a beggar and a butcher, both of whom operated near the temple. They both claim to have seen suspicious people late the night of the fires and, for the gold, they’d willingly testify. Investigation is concluded

Decianus tells them that they should have heard "Crassus", "And for the Censor", "This is for Crassus" and "The censor hates this building". They also claim that they have seen several ruffians running to Crassus'villa during the night of the villa. Some of the men carried torches and oil with them.
He also informs them that they will have to testify under oath and that they shall swear on the words of the gods that what they speak is truth.
