Starfall
Starfall is the ancestral castle of House Dayne in Dorne. The castle is located in the western Red Mountains on an island in the Torentine where it pours into the Summer Sea. Starfall, which includes a tower called the Palestone Sword, guards the western arm of Dorne. Northeast of Starfall is High Hermitage, the seat of a Dayne cadet branch. According to legend, Starfall was built where the first Dayne found a magic stone after he followed the path of a shooting star. The Daynes grew in power to become the Kings of the Torrentine and one of the strongest houses of Dorne.

Edric Dayne, the Third of His Name, is the Lord of Starfall and High Elbow, after the death of his father, the late Lord of Starfall, Trystane. His House is an ancient one, one that claims ancestry with the First Men, and ruled the Torrentine as an independent kingdom for centuries before the coming of Nymeria and the Rhoynar. His father was the brother of two notable Daynes; Ser Arthur, who fought for Prince Rhaegar during Robert's Rebellion and died at the Tower of Joy, and Ashara Dayne, who committed suicide for reasons unknown. Stories circulate that she died due to a broken heart due to her stillborn daughter, due to the man who had dishonored her at Harrenhal, or due to the grief over Arthur's death. There are wild rumors that she was the mother of Jon Snow, in the North, but they were silenced by Catelyn Tully, Eddard Stark's wife. His aunt, Allyria, had been betrothed to Beric Dondarrion, which resulted in Edric becoming the squire of the Stormland knight.
Much of his years, as Beric's squire, were filled with tragedy and grief. When Dondarrion's men were sent to apprehend Gregor Clegane, it was Edric who saw his mentor be inflicted with a mortal wound. His body was dragged from the river. Afterward, Edric watched the rest of their men be slaughtered by Gregor's ambush. After Beric was revived, by the Lord of Light, R'hllor, Edric continued to serve under him and, eventually, joined the Brotherhood Without Banners. This organization ensured that Edric saw the suffering of many smallfolk due to the War of the Five Kings, throughout the Riverlands. The experiences there are hard ones, but they make Edric all the wiser and tougher. During his time with the Brotherhood, he meets up with Arya Stark and fails to befriend her due to speaking of Jon Snow and Ashara Dayne, causing Arya to be upset. Though he tries to apologize, the young Dornishman is not forgiven.
After Beric dies, for the seventh and final time, Edric and others depart from the Brotherhood as Lady Stoneheart takes over. A rather long and treacherous trek eventually brought him to the walls of Starfall, which he had not seen in many years. When he appears before the gates, only one recognizes who he truly is, his aunt, Lady Allyria.
