sforza This did not require any authority so, with a silent nod of his head, the Proconsul allows the inquiry to be made. Glaucia thanked Atellus before he would move on to the legate of Legio XVI. Soon he would arrive to their camp The men of the Macedonica prove more than forthcoming to Glaucia's investigation. Many are willing to testify that their commander not only killed Greeks on neutral ground during negotiations, but worse still abandoned the province and the legions completely after his disastrous defeat, not even bothering to try and regain both their honour by recapturing the eagle.

Glaucia was so happy. He informs the soldiers that the current Aedile Decianus is planning to run for Praetor next year and that a trial will be organized to punish Mugillanus. Decianus will pay for the trip of all soldiers that are willingly to come to Rome in person next year. It was a damning revelation that Mugillanus had actively lied to the senate over his role during the negotiations. Slowly but surely the rope was tightening around Mugillanus' neck.

After a message is sent to the Roman governor in Macedonia, a delegate is sent to Athens, reminding them of their obligations, per the treaty with Gaius Fabius Maximus Atellus, in paying for the re-establishment of the Corinthian colony that they had depopulated after the siege of the city. The Republic would look favorably upon the Greeks if they met their treaty obligations given that the status quo was kept.

The Greeks, somewhat reluctantly, begin to uphold their bargain and ensure that they dutifully meet their obligations regarding Corinth.
