Magistrates, 100 BCE:
Consuls: Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix and Gaius Fabius Maximus Atellus
Censor: NPC
Praetors: NPC
Aediles: Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius
Plebeian Tribunes: NPC
Quaestors: Lucius Valerius Flaccus
Provincial Governors:
Asia: Lucius Licinius Crassus Capitolinus
Africa: NPC
Macedonia: Manius Papirius Mugillanus
Corsica Et Sardinia: NPC
Cilicia: NPC
Hispania Ulterior: NPC
Hispania Citerior: NPC
Gallia Cisalpina: Marcus Aemilius Lepidus
Gallia Transalpina: NPC
Sicilia: NPC
EVENTS:
- The pirate menace has only grown bolder, pillaging towns in southern Italy. Rome's Italian allies on the coast of Magna Graecia have joined the troupe of those petitioning for action to be taken to end the threat.
- The remnants of the Saturnine Conspiracy are still at large, with a group of insurgents pillaging Etruria. Once again, Rome's Italian allies petition the Republic to put an end to the madness.
- Quintus Sertorius has illegally occupied the port of Brundisium with a single legion, refusing to resign command and return to Rome for trial. He is rumoured to be harbouring enemies of the people of Rome.
- Following an incident in which an Italian veteran was mistakenly tried as a non-citizen, a particularly vocal number of rural Italian citizens are clamouring for an increased say for their countrymen in the affairs of the Republic. There is talk of the Samnites and Marsii putting together a formal petition for citizenship rights to the Senate, though this has yet to materialise.
PROVINCIAL ISSUES:
Gallia Cisalpina:
Following Lepidus' conclusion of the Gallic rebellion, the province is quiet for the time being. However, a proper garrison must be instituted, with the defences in the Alps having been compromised by the Cimbri some years earlier.
Macedonia:
A number of the locals complain that Sertorius extorted and abused them during his year of office. Furthermore, a number of pro-Mithridatic politicians have emerged in the Greek City States.
Asia:
With Sertorius' treaty with Pontus remaining unratified, the only thing preventing the re-occupation of Cappadocia by Pontus is the Roman garrison, who are close to mutiny due to their commander's impending prosecution.
Agendas:
Optimates:
- Weakening the Tribunate
- Strengthening Senatorial power
- Preventing Italic citizenship
Populares:
- Land reform
- Debt cancellation
- Preserving the Tribunate
NOTE: All posts in the Curia should instead be made in the Curia-Hostilia channel on the discord.
