As of right now, this Game of Thrones revival will feature what is hopefully, to you, the community, an entirely new list of rules. We have, once more, looked into "more narrative, less mechanics" for our approach to this and future settings. Some of you have seen what we have done, so far, in the discord server and made your opinion known! We have listened and will continue to seek to make a better game for all.
The developed rules, thus far, may be revealed soon, but right now we can tell, to those interested, that this setting will take place in a time period we haven't touched before, 300 AC, at the end of 'A Dance with Dragons' and with some known, and estimated/suspected, elements of 'Winds of Winter.' Without further adieu, our story begins as such:
Chaos and violence reign throughout the Seven Kingdoms as many of the Five Kings are dead, but the war continues, with no end in sight.
Though Tommen sits upon the Iron Throne, he is nothing more than a puppet for his mother, Cersei, the Lord Protector, and those of the Small Council. His reign is not fully secure yet due to many threats around King's Landing. Even the city is not secure as the fanatical Faith Militant have been restored under the High Sparrow. His powerful reach already punishing Cersei Lannister and Margaery Tyrell for their sins. In the North, Stannis Baratheon, with the remnants of his army and supporters in the North, prepares for a great clash against the traitorous House Bolton, led by the Lord Paramount Roose and, his son, Ramsay, Lord of Winterfell. The Reach, long having been untouched by the ravages of war, has suddenly attacked by the Ironborn, led by the Iron King Euron, the Third of His Name, of House Greyjoy. He has taken the Shield Islands and now prepares to assault Oldtown. At his command is a powerful fleet, strong Ironborn warriors, and powerful artifacts that will ensure his dreaded rule over the waves and sands. In the Riverlands, House Tully has been thrown down. Edmure Tully, the last of his House, has been imprisoned by the Lannisters and sent to Casterly Rock. The war in this land seems to conclude as the Freys reign supreme over the Crossing and Riverrun, with Lord Baelish being named Lord of Harrenhal and Lord Paramount of the Riverlands by the Iron Throne. However, the newly elevated Baelish is elsewhere. Presently, he is in the Vale, where Littlefinger plays his part, and manipulations, as Lord Protector over Robin Arryn. But, in the Stormlands, there is a most intriguing news... the Golden Company has landed, led by the once dead son of Rhaegar Targaryen, Aegon, the Sixth of His Name. Westerosi exiles and Essosi natives, of the Golden Company, follow him to reclaim his birthright. They have taken a greater part of the Stormlands and now stand before Storm's End. Likely, soon enough, their gaze will certainly turn to King's Landing and the Iron Throne, the ultimate prize.
Beware! There are other threats, beyond the Seven Kingdoms. Threats that are known and... unknown.
Can the chaos be tamed? Can the Seven Kingdoms be reunited or will Westeros fall into utter ruin?
Hope to see many of you in Westeros soon!
