In the waning months of the year three hundred and two since Aegon's Conquest, the knights and nobles of the Seven Kingdoms were invited to test their skill at arms in Dorne, the land of sand and sun that remains largely untouched by the long arm of winter. On a flat plain by the Greenblood, a small city of tents and pavilions have been raised to accommodate the contestants and spectators. The grounds are being swiftly prepared for the coming of what will hopefully be a welcome distraction from the looming threat of famine and death as well as a celebration of the newly won peace between Dorne and the Iron Throne.

Daemon sat on a stool as his chestplate was polished and the squire fastened up the belts and made sure there were no gaps in the plate. The armor he wore was splendid, albeit it was no white, but wholy red, like the scorching sun of the desert and the heraldry of Allyrion. The helmet was adorned with silken flowing strips, orange and yellow, like Martell's own colors. He flexed the muscles. This was his princess' initiative, to mend the rift between the realm and the princedom. A feigned courtesy of Arianne to make herself look complacient and content, he was sure of that. You shouldn't tread on a viper, but the viper knows sometimes it's better to conceal on the tall grass or under a rock under the large predator is gone. He thought that as he waited to enter the lists.

Lord Edric Dayne arrived, with his wife, Lady Jordayne, to join in the tournament. A squire came with his armor as they arrived among the other noblemen and knights of the princedom. First thing was first. Edric and his wife came along the pavilion and approached the Princess Martell. Both bowed their heads to Arianne.
My Princess.
Edric states as he raises his head.
I am glad to see you well and vibrant. I am sorry for your late father's death... I know I sent my condolences via raven, but I feel my words, in person, would do better.
