A raven arrives, bearing the sigil of House Arryn.
Lord Morrigen,
My army has gained control of Stonehelm, one of your homeland's vital ports. Lord Swann does not know where the rebel Waters is, only that his son left for Storm's End around the time that Aurane landed. I have sent outriders in three directions, one of them being Rainwood. Once I hear word from them, I will report my findings to you. For now, my army will remain encamped outside of Stonehelm and monitor the nearby areas.
Signed, Lord Harrold Arryn

Fresh houses respond via raven. Among them were Trant, Mertyn, Staedmon, Rogers, Dondarrion, Cafferen, and... Foote of Nightsong.

A new raven arrives, sent by Harrold Arryn. He reports that outriders sent East saw the traitorous banners of Waters and the pretender, Tommen. A host of several thousand strong. However, his outriders could not pursue further as they were seen entering the immense Rainwood and would have likely gotten lost and killed.

Eddard Umber stood at the ready with his men, having them train in the field before the camp. The man from the North were weary of the rest they had enjoyed and needed some conflict.

Lester Morrigen was mounted, Penrose at his side carrying his banner. Other retained were joining him and soon the Crow of Morrigen stood side by side with the Crowned Stag once again. Morrigen's armor was newly polished, repaired, and brilliant. He was starting to reesemble the powerful lord he had become. His face was newly cleanshaven, and his thin frame had filled out a bit from his time in the North.
His brother, Richard, appeared several moments later with his own small band of retainers, Waterford among them.
"My brother will lead the heavy horse." Morrigen remarked coolly. "Caron, you will command the Center. Umber..." His gaze shifted to where the northman was standing. "You will finally get your wish to do some killing. We know the enemy is in the Rainwood but we do not know where exactly. I will not lead the army into an ambush in the trees. Advance cautiously with your men and 200 of my archers. Find then enemy, bloody him, and then return with your report. You will lead the van in the event a pitched battle ensues. However, if you are trapped in the forest, send us a signal and we will send aid."

Eddard spat on the floor, before the boots of Morrigen. "About fucking time lad." he said as he cracked his neck by moving it left and right. He rose his sword toward his men and yelled "For the North" before he grinned at morrigen and went on his way.

A rider from Dorne arrives in the marches, looking to treat with either lord Arryn or Lord Morrigen on behalf of Arianne, Princess of Dorne and Lady of Sunspear.

He rose his sword toward his men and yelled "For the North" before he grinned at morrigen and went on his way. Umber's men fail to find Waters host within the thick Rainwood. At the same time, outriders of Aurane's force fail to find Umber's men. Likely due to the small number of men that follow Eddard. As a result, a skirmish does not happen within the Rainwood and Umber's men retreat without finding the enemy. Waters encampment remains relatively hidden from them. ========================== GandalfironaquiliferOn the other hand, Ser Donnel's men are detected by Valemen outriders who report back to Lord Arryn. The force seems to be between three to four hundred cavalry. Two orders are made: Harrold Arryn gathers the heavy cavalry to counter the approaching force. Ser Templeton is ordered to take the light cavalry and attempt to prevent them from retreating. If this was achieved, Vale cavalrymen would seek to capture their commander. If this failed, they would return and prepare the army to move out.

{Secret whisperings}A ruse is laid for Aurane's Men. Eddard will venture back into the forest and manuever in such a way as to draw the enemy out. How he does so is his own business. The bulk of the army will move into the forest covertly and establish ambush points. The Cavalry will remain in reserve in order to swiftly address points of exploitation or weakness.

The smoke rose from parts that he had managed to enter as soldiers sought to get the fires under control. Donnel couldn't help but get emotional as his commands were carried out to the letter. They were few, insignificant compared to the might that was being arrayed against them. And yet they rode, stormlanders on borrowed steeds, sellswords in stolen armour, old and young, dishonest and chivalrous, the meek and the mighty. On they rode, with sword and lance, with axe and spear. One heartbeat. A clash of steel on steel. Two. A cry of flesh torn from bone. Three. And just as they had emerged, those men of quality vanished with the trophies of blood upon their blades.

Morrigen wasn't fool enough to fall into his own trap. "There they are, at least. Send our own forces into pursuit." he called to his brother. Robert mounted and led their own force of light cavalry in pursuit. His squire, Waterford rode with them. He pursued them in an arc, not allowing them to lead him where they might want, but screening them until they caught up to something.
Lester turned to Eddard. "My lord, you will lead your men in the vanguard, the tip of our spear once my brother roots out the brigands in the wood. You should be aware they are likely to wan tot spring a trap. Watch your flanks. You will be the center of our line, so I enturst to you an additional 2,500 infantry (1000 light, 1,400 heavy, 500 archers) and archers. Do not fail me."
"Lord Caron, you will lead the left in support of Eddard. Destroy the enemy where and when you find them, but be wary of traps and ambushes. Should you find nothing, make for where the fighting sounds thickest. You shall take the rest of the light cavalry, and half of the forces remaining to us. (700 archers, 900 heavy infantry, 1000 light infantry, 535 light cavalry)
"I will lead the right(all heavy cav, 700 archers, 590 light infantry) and do much of what I ordered you to do. If everything comes together the way I envision, we may surprise these brigands the way we surprised the wildlings in the Haunted Forest on the flanks. Give them no quarter, these are rebels and traitors who serve a bastard bred of incest, an abomination to all."

Arryn sentries, encamped south of Crow's Nest, noticed the movement of the Morrigen-led force. It seemed troops were preparing to advance into the woods. Morrigen must have spotted the enemy force if he was advancing at this moment. As such, Lord Arryn convenes his war council, quickly, and relays orders to the various contingents. Three were drawn up in order. The left flank, composed of five thousand men, closest to Morrigen's army, would advance into the trees, led by Ser Templeton. The center, led by another five thousand, would be commanded by Lord Arryn and advance into the trees to the right of Morrigen's formation. Royce's contingent, nearly six thousand men, and with majority of the cavalry and a large contingent of light infantry, would advance further to the right and aim to dive deeper into the woods before coming around and hitting the enemy from the rear. This was a hopeful move, but it was one that could possibly divide the attention of Waters or do as intended. If all went to plan, two pincers, led by Morrigen and Arryn, would aim for Waters' assumed front, with Royce swinging from the right and around.
(700 archers, 900 heavy infantry, 1000 light infantry, 535 light cavalry) Finally, thought Rolland. The war, in the Stormlands, may finally end today! Come on, Umber! Coles on me!Caron remarks as he turns and heads off to gather his troops, with the Coles in tow. He was given command a few thousand troops, hopefully enough. Rainwood, as a battlefield, would be treacherous. May the Seven be with them on this day.

3200 levies 1280 Light Inf 640 archers 640 heavy inf 320 Light Cavalry 320 Knights
1500 Sellswords 525 Light Inf 375 Archers 375 Heavy Inf 225 Light Cavalry
Split the forces up into thirds, one led by Aurane, one by Donnel, and one by Norys. Orders are being sent to LM as we speak, but (I believe) Donnel is riding back into the Rainwood where Aurane's army waits.
