The treasury of the king is both tangible and not, being both a real hoard of valuables within Maegor’s Holdfast as well as being a collection of promissory notes and borrowed paper, a record of debts and debtors. Managed by the Master of Coin, it represents the assets held by the Crown, such as they are. Revenues include tax, tolls, and income from whatever estates the King holds by law or escheat, while the expenses of the crown are vast and difficult to quantify.
The current health of the treasury is determined by the moderators, and will be altered in accordance with IC actions. The health of the treasury will have a positive impact on the royal projects the crown undertakes, and also keeps track of the debt owed by the crown to the various banks and lenders. It is the prerogative of the King and Master of Coin to ensure the treasury is as healthy as possible by meeting expenditures, and that creditors are kept happy with payments.
