Lordsport is the seat of House Botley and the largest town in the Iron Isles - which is to say, not large at all. Its nearest competitor in both size and prosperity, Lord Hewett's Town on Oakenshield in the Reach, is twice its size, despite also being a modest town by Green Lander standards. Nonetheless, it's renowned across the continent for the skill of its metalworkers and the quality of their forges, which turn the eponymous iron of these isles into weapons and armor of the highest degree. In addition, it is also the safest and most hospitable place to drop anchor for anyone looking to visit the Greyjoy seat at Pyke.
The small castle of the Botleys was previously occupied by Germund Botley, brother to the late Lord Sawane and a champion of King Euron Greyjoy, who was awarded the castle and title after the latter drowned Sawane (a dogged supporter of the claim of Theon Greyjoy to the end) for not bending the knee. Half of their lands were also handed over to the nearby House Wynch. Fortunately, Euron and Germund both met a disastrous end beneath the walls of Oldtown, and Asha Greyjoy now rules the Iron Isles. She has returned Lordsport and the Botley lands to Sawane's eldest living son, her childhood friend and loyal supporter Tristifer, who however cannot long dither to enjoy his rightful estates as renewed warfare on the Green Lands calls him and the isles' (depleted) strength once more.
