Petyr nodded. "Answerinng your question: there're a brood of Bracken ladies and the three daughters of Lord Vance to pick from, from those who come to mind quicker. There're also Mooton, other Vance, Vypren, Smallwood and scores of ladies of age, just blossomed or just widowed, depending on your lord's preference"He added with a sly smile. "However, I must point out that Lord Bracken has no sons to claim lands and title, solely daughters... maybe that's what your lord is looking for? One of them shall one day rule over Stonehedge and all its lands, somewhat enlarged thanks to Lord Jaime. Their husband shall be a very rich man, wealthier than even Tully ever was. And their house is well disposed towards House Lannister, firmly allied to the Crown, it would be a handsome match"Ser Parren's eyebrow went up at the mention of Lord Bracken's situation. This sort of information may intrigue the Warden. I will convey these words to Ser Devan. Stronger ties in the Riverlands would do well for House Baelish and House Lannister. One has supported the other after all and vice versa.Ser Parren bows his head to Lord Baelish. I will return after I have inspected Darry and sent word to Ser Devan. Is there anything that the Warden of the West can do perhaps in return?

"Of course, of course, the gain would be hugely benefitial for both"
Said Baelish with a smile his eyes did not share.
"Nothing, I'm afraid. I begged the Crown for the return of the many hostages from my domain, maybe ser Devan could help if the regency proves to be uncollaborative, so to speak"

Edwyn Frey arrives at the head of a small group of retainers and knights numbered no more than thirty men. None more could be spared but too small a retinue was dangerous in these times. Many brigands roamed the Riverlands and it would no do to be caught unawares. They made their way into Harrenhall where it appeared most of the peerage of the Riverlands was already gathered. Edwyn Frey dismounted and asked to see Lord Baelish.

Many brigands roamed the Riverlands and it would no do to be caught unawares. They made their way into Harrenhall where it appeared most of the peerage of the Riverlands was already gathered. Edwyn Frey dismounted and asked to see Lord Baelish. Lord Baelish was having lunch with a few lords on the solar, which was large enough to hold an actual feast. Lord Bracken was there, as were Vance and Grell, Lady Smallwood and a few others Riverlanders of note, all seated around a very large oaken table, with Baelish sitting at the head, sharing wine and ale, hunt and other delicacies. At Littlefinger's side was Simond Templeton, knight of the Vale and all around him, flockering, were pages, knights and a score of servants. They all were a loud lot, filling the vaulted ceiling with their conversations and feasting. A man leans into Baelish's ear, who whispers something in return. Frey is allowed in and assigned a chair on the table, between Templeton and Smallwood. "Ser Edwyn Frey, be welcomed. Your father honors us by sending his heir to Harrenhal. Take a seat, please"He smiles: well-kept teeth showing through the slightly open lips. His grey-green eyes follow the Frey as he approached to him and took a seat. Baelish himself was wearing a cloth-of-gold doublet, embroidered with floral motives; it was an exquisite raiment worth a lord's ransom. Tapestries covered the walls, most of them brought from King's Landing itself by Lord Baelish, to furbish and cover the large walls of the solar. Else, the walls would be naked, as little remained of Lord Whent's fabulous furniture and tapestries, which had been lost through years of ruin, neglect and even the recent sacks and the ever-changing ownerhsip of the keep.

Edwyn Frey's cloak was road-stained, the sigil of his house was finely embroidered on his doublet. He had clearly not even had the time to change into more fitting garb. "Apologies for the delay, but the Twins are far away My Lord, and the journey from them this far south has grown treacherous. The Brotherhood without Banners and other brigands still roam with ease around the countryside."
Harrenhall had sent a shiver down his spine. He fully believed in Harren's curse. Lord Baelish would likely not live out to see the end of next year if the history of this place was any measure.

Lord Baelish would likely not live out to see the end of next year if the history of this place was any measure. "No need to apologize, ser. Partake in our meal, please, honor us"Baelish gestured towards the bountiful lunch, having some wine poured for the Frey. There might be some ironic intent in Baelish's words, but his smile was wide and clean and his intentions seemingly were friendly and agreeable. Few of the gathered lords were sour-faced -having kin dead at their hands or chained by their doing-, but they probably knew it was better to remain silent and pray for Frey to leave soon. "Those bandits and filth shall be dealt with. But, I've been told they're sheltered by smallfolk and lords alike, hard to find and to uproot. Moreso in Winter"Said Baelish, with his cold eyes staring at Frey, those eyes didn't smile. "However, I'm glad to hear the travel was smooth and without further trouble"

Edwyn was not particularly known for his wits or intelligence. He sat and began to eat. "Aye my Lord. Though perhaps if we were granted a fraction of your strength here we could return north in force and drive out some of these rebels." He replied.

At some point, a raven flies, from Casterly Rock, bearing a message from Ser Devan.

"I'm afraid I have none to spare"Said Baelish, sad looking, with a hint of worry. Feigned of course, but Frey wouldn't notice. "The Vale has much trouble with clansmen preying the passes and Lord Robert tasked me with rooting them out. As Lord Protector of the Vale I'm but obliged to deal with this particular issue"He sips some hippocras while a page served him pheasant. "The Crossing has manpower enough to deal with some brigands, does it not?"A mouthful of meat is picked by a golden fork. "And that of Riverrun proper"

"Well, that's too bad." Edwyn said between mouthfuls of stew. "House Frey will do its duty, though we find ourselves rather friendless. Sure, piss and shit all over our House's honor for decades, then as soon as we don't tolerate it no more, suddenly we're the ones to blame. Anyone with any pride would have done the same. The direwolf humped his back and shat on us, he got what he deserved." Edwyn said absently. "Mayhaps if you are headed back to the Vale, you might make my Warden of the Trident to act in your stead, would give it a sense of legilimency." he barely pronounced the word at all as he moved to find the finest wine available. "I could find them and bring them to the King's justice, and maybe get some of these lords of slow loyalty back into the field. Lord Jaime Lannister did much to help restore things but we haven't seen much of him the past few weeks."

Templeton looked clearly disgusted. He had advocated for joining Robb Stark's side in the war and had little love for the Freys and their allies.
"You think backstabbing your King is something done out of pride and not greed? Now I see why you get along with the Lannisters."

Edwyn gestured with his cutting knife towards Templeton. "Stark's dagger was already twisted in our back before it ever was in his! You'd do well to remember what comes of betraying House Frey."

"And you should consider yourself lucky that we Valemen respect the laws of hospitality, unlike you."
Templeton stood up, and for a second it looked like the situation was going to escalate, but no.
"I would like to see to my men, Lord Baelish, if you would excuse me. I'll leave you and this man alone to sort out your business"
