"Tell me, uncle, with the arrival of spring, how has the Stormlands fared? How is my brother?" Eldon now refocuses his attention upon Stannis. His nephew seemed in quite the good mood! The Stormlands fair well, nephew. You hardly had an issue while away. I can give full details on that at a latter date.Best not bore his new wife. There, of course, had been reports of pirates sighted by Tarth, bandits reported near the Kingswood, given the influx of refugees now crowding near Bronzegate. A matter that would need to be handled, considering the devastation of King's Landing. He motions to a maester who brings forth two messages, bearing the markings of House Fell and Grandison. Two of the three who betrayed your brother were more than willing to understand that you are not Robert and they re-affirmed their oaths to Storm's End.Lord Estermont's face then darkens a bit. House Cafferen scoffed at my brother and sent him on his way. I sent a new message, by raven, reminding them of the consequences of their actions if they do not comply. In agreement with your desires, they will pay a fine. Of which, I decided it best for you to decide, as their liege, on a proper amount. A nice stipend to help with the refilling of the coffers your brother spent. On the matter of Renly, his face brightens to his normal attitude. Your cousin, Aemon, has been working with the Baratheon knights in teaching my youngest nephew how to spar and wield a sword. Even Ser Davos here came to give a tip or two. He shows little interest in books though, despite the maester's best efforts in trying to garner even a sliver of attention. I say that, in time, he will be a most skilled knight as true for all my sister's sons.

But coin shall come handy in making amends with our debts and obligations"He added. "Renly is a strong lad, he shall soon be a young man. I shall make a lord of him, but soon he shall be sent to Highgarden. This is decreed. One of yours, one of my cousins and Seaworth him shall fetch him to Lord Tyrell to be his ward"

Eldon turns to Aemon and clamps his son, the future Lord of Greenstone, on the shoulder.
Aemon will see to Renly's safe arrival at Highgarden.
The old Estermont nods his head before turning to the side, gesturing for the newly wed couple to enter Storm's End.
Later, my Lord Baratheon, we should discuss the matters of other natures. Politics will only sour the joyous atmosphere of your newly wed's arrival to the Stormlands.
Griffin's Roost, bandits near the Kingswood, pirate sightings, and the issues of the refugee influx near Bronzegate.

"Welcome to Storm's End"The colossal buildings towered above. Inside they were ladden with centuries-worth of riches, of Durrandon and Baratheon both. It stung a little to be left out of the conversation, though Lysa did not show it. She merely curtsied and gathered up her ladies in waiting and servants. Talk of politics were better left to those who had a head for it. "I'll see you later, my husband. Ser Eldon, Ser Davos."The Lady of Storm's End took her leave with her attendants. She greeted the steward for a tour of the castle - her new home.

"My Lady"
Said Stannis with a curt nod. Lysa had been much better than expected. There was a feeling growing inside Stannis he had not felt before. It was exhilarating. Baratheon particularly loved the sound of her soft and velvet-like voice when she read to him. Lately, to his shame, he had enjoyed this before sleep. The sound relaxed him like a small babe.
"I will show myself some parts of the castle later, my vassals demand my presence, sadly. Stay well"
He added, gentle. Then, he led his bannermen to the solar, where he asked Estermont about what he meant and why.

Eldon excused himself when it was clear that Stannis desired to speak with him about matters. Once they were within his solar, a maester came forth with some letters. Two bore the seals of House Buckler of Bronzegate and the third was that of House Tarth. These three letters indicated some present issues for the Stormlands.
House Buckler, representing the interests of the Stormlords along the northern borders of the Crownlands, report the immense influx of refugees and a growing presence of bandits in the Kingswood. The lawlessness, within the vicinity of King's Landing's ruins, are causing issues for trade and order. Most have gathered at Bronzegate, but camps have been spotted along the edge of the woods.
Kingswood had always been a place of notoriety for bandits. Desperate people would ensure they came back in force.
House Tarth has reported the sighting of pirates from the Stepstones. With King's Landing in ruins, they will likely turn to the Stormlands and Dorne for plunder.
Plunder which would hurt the recovering treasury of the House Baratheon.
They most skirted by the Evenfall Hall and even my brother said he saw colored sails, in the mists, to the East and South of Greenstone on a few occasions.

Let the lords send some of the wheat and bread to help the people in need"Said Stannis. "Muster your own men and the knights of the Cape of Wrath, under your lead. You shall ride and make sure the lawlessness is put to an end"He added. "Send raven to Tarth, he shall police the straits and send word in case of an increased activity. I will send a man to Velaryon to make sure the waves are controlled"

Finally, a bit of action! Even if it was possibly bandits and robbers.
Aemon and I will see to it that the troublemakers are dealt with.
The knights of House Estermont would welcome the chance for certain.
As for Lord Velaryon, why not send your new man, Lord Seaworth? Probably the best mind about ships and the sea out of the anyone in the Stormlands.
Lord Tarth would likely say otherwise, but Davos was a smuggler and one who understood the waves.
Perhaps we can use the incomes of the Stormlands to build a small fleet to help police the waters.

"I will look into this. Bring me the defeated bandits, we shall ship them to the Wall"He added. A servant soon left, looking for Seaworth. "Anything else, uncle? I have designs for the refugees. It might be even about time we do something with Summerhall..."

Eldon's eyebrow went up slightly as Seaworth was brought into the solar.
Summerhall? Those ghastly ruins?
All knew of the fire that went up at that place, a royal property of the Targaryen dynasty till the fire during the reign of Aegon V. It claimed the lives of the King, his heir, and the Lord Commander. Upon that very same day, Prince Rhaegar was born, within those halls. Now they were ruin, charred and blackened, on the Eastern borders.
I'd be wary about that place, nephew... there are surely dead spirits like those that haunt Harrenhal. Make sure any bones found are buried properly.
Eldon wasn't one to be superstitious, but best not disturb the dead were his thoughts. Still, Stannis would see it happen though. Likely planned to turn it into a new defensible castle against any potential attack by the Reach.
I will see about dealing with the bandits, if the reports are true. I'd rather we not have self-proclaimed Kings of the Woods in our borders.

Stannis was, as usual, waiting alone at the solar. "Ser Davos"
... Stannis replies to his uncle. "Ghosts are folk tales. The place is just ruined. I planned to either restore it or found a new town, with charter and all, in the place, with the people fleeing from the capital. Throves of peasants without a home. This would be much needed to replace all those fallen in war"
