The dark-haired man promptly leaves to prepare the documents Edmure is left alone with the former mercenaries. "I don't plan to tell the King about this. I was under the impression that those Golden Company members able to pay their ransoms were freemen. What freemen do and don't do is of no concern to the Crown." It's like you said, only those who could pay their ransom are freemen, Lord Tully. The rest of our comrades are due to be sent to the Wall.Duncan states, recalling what had occurred within the Great Hall mere hours ago. Up to us to make sure everything is accounted for before we leave.Baratheon would want to make sure the men promised to the Wall were sent to the Wall after all. Look bad on us if someone was missing. I keep hearing that the Wall needs these men.

OOC: Just to make sure this isn't missed... Remembering that the Lord of the Riverlands was also charged with securing the capital with him, Massey further dispatched a squire and pageboy to Edmure Tully's residence in the capital, inviting him to the barracks so they could coordinate a strategy to accomplish this herculean task.

A comitive arrived to the city. A score of knights in mail and plate, a flock of handmaidens and a couple dozen servants had acompanied Lady Sansa to the capital. She was riding her own horse, in a purely white riding raiment, tall boots included, clad in a fur-lined cloak in grey, held in place by a silvery wolven head. Her daughter had remained in the Vale, as it was unwise for the young heir to leave the kingdom in deep winter. Not that Sansa cared much, she loved her daughter, but was something faint and numb, more of a duty imposed to her than something she felt. As she made the way into the city Lady Arryn sent word to her uncle's manse: half a Tully herself it was but fitting she lived with the Lord of Riverrun.

He sighed and came out to welcome them
The Knight of Willow Wood gave orders to find room for Arryn's entourage while he spoke to Sansa himself. "Lady Sansa. Welcome to Tully Manor. I regret to inform you that your Lord Uncle is not here."

Brienne of Tarth arrived, newly freed from the black cells, and sought to meet with Lady Sansa. She's led into the solar, where Lady Arryn was reading some parchments, probably something related to her seat in the Small Council.

Brienne set her jaw, her mousy, dirty blonde hair disheveled from her time spent in the dungeon. It was an indignation, no true knight...no true hearted person should be made to suffer such an indignity. Still, this was no time to linger on the past. Brienne had her whole future ahead of her.
"Lady Sansa, I once and briefly served your mother as her sworn sword. I was tasked with finding and keeping you and your sister safe, in fact." She decided to omit the part of the tale where she had met the shade of Catelyn Stark, for that is how her mind remembered it. "She was a good woman, a noble woman. I would serve you in the same way, if you will allow me to enter your service." She finished.

"You served my mother and you swore to find us?"Sansa looked at her from below, her eyes fixed on the she-warrior. "I wonder what would have been of her if you had been in the Twins, you look fearsome"She looked sorrowful and fragile for a moment, then raised again her wall of courtesy, like lady Catelyn had taught her. "She was, indeed. I will have your sword, if you want to serve me, I don't have any I can call my own, lady Brienne. A woman is always at the mercy of men and having someone like you... would do much"

Brienne drew Oathkeeper in a flourish and laid it at Sansa's feet. The blade seemed to drink in the reflections of the firelight from the hearth. "In the light of the seven I swear this vow, I shall protect you, carry out your commands, and keep your secrets." She hesitated momentarily as she realized her gods were not the same as Lady Sansa's. She quickly added "This I swear by the old gods and the new."

Brienne allowed the shadow of a smile to appear before sheathing Oathkeeper. "Thank you, Lady Sansa. What is your first command for me?"

Brienne allowed the shadow of a smile to appear before sheathing Oathkeeper. "Thank you, Lady Sansa. What is your first command for me?" "You will come in handy, my Lady"Said Lady Sansa. "My uncle has been away from the city, dealing with rebels in his lands of the Rivers. Since Baelish died Harrenhal has been left vacant. But, that castle is a princely seat..."She looked at the armored woman. "Go find my uncle Edmure and try to convince him to make me Lady of Harrenhal. I do not wish to be a pawn in manly games and been at my capricious husband's mercy. If I'm to hold my own fief I'll have power and agency, not being a mere decorative thing useful to get laid with and rule when you're absent"
She added, bitterly. Sansa looked every inch like her mother had in her prime, but Stark's beauty was somehow fiercer, more stunning. "And as he does I have the blood of the Whents..."The she stops walking around and looks at Tarth. And then turns to the Riverlander that headed her uncle's household in the city. "Give me your sword. Ser Ryger, come"
