The arrival of Drogon broke the coalition's back. Its flames tore through lines upon lines of Ghiscari legionaries. They were turned to nothing but blackened skeletons and melted armor within an instance. This proved to be too much. One dragon was enough, two dragons was pushing it, but a third? Far too much. There was nothing their commanders could do as they began to retreat in droves, flying away from the field of battle and seeking any means of escape. Even the crews, manning the trebuchets, abandoned them and fled. The elephants turned in confusion and panic, perhaps the one part of the army that didn't have much sense given what had happened.
The Dothraki knew better as they saw their allies flying away. The horde of horsemen veered away from the flank of their foe and flew away to the North.
The Second Battle of Meereen was coming to an end as the army fled.

Victarion had little interest in seeing the fields bloodied for a third battle of Meereen. Thus, as the Ghiscari legions turned and gave flight, he and Viserion began to pursue. The dragon's bloodlust was upon it, just as the Iron Captain's own, and flames spilled forward from ivory jaws as they swept towards the men and horses that were trying to abandon the field. They would remember not to return to this city and challenge the Queen's reign again, and the Dragon and the Ironborn would see to that.

Flecks of black ink had flown almost all over his stunted right arm as he wrote, but the scrolls were complete. Tyrion glanced at his last few lines, read them, scratched some out, and rewrote them. The narrative of Dany's conquests would be his, even if he was devoured by a dragon on the morrow.
Tyrion knew what the result would be even before the battle commenced. No army in the history of the world had stood before one with dragons, unless they had such on their side. Even Dorne had eventually fallen. Tyrion made note of the dragons, their method of combat, and their riders. Perhaps some of them would need to be dismounted as a later time. For the nonce, he awaited the return of Dany.

Dany herself flew her dragon and pursued the Dothraki. Then, she bathed the grass with fire and perched herself on a rock. When the horses halted their race, scared by the fire, she rose in the saddle and yelled in their tongue.
"Riders! I'm Daenerys Stormborn, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains and Khaalesi of the Great Grass Sea!"
Drogo snapped his teeth, flames dancing around the fearsome things.
"With my own hands I slew Khal Pono and Khal Jhaqo, and most their bloodriders! Now I rule over thousands and thousands of Dothrakis and they fight and ride for me!"
The bells in her braided hair dingle.
"I mount a dragon, the greatest beast ever to have graced this world. I defeated you and broke you. But you can still have a purpose! Hail me as your Khalesi, the bravest among you be my kos and I shall bring you glory everlasting! We will break Astapor, Yunkai and New Ghis and topple their harpies! We will throw their houses of stone to the floor and seize their women and children! Are you willing to share this glory with me and follow me to mount this world?"
The dragon, excited, roared mightily and openned its inmense wings, covering the land in shadows, surrounded by fire and smoke.

There was hardly much convincing to do. Only a small portion truly did not agree with an outsider ruling them, even if she had dragons at her command. Yet, despite this voice, a greater portion, including the Khal himself, came over to the Stormborn Queen. In grand total, the Dragon Queen acquiring nearly twenty thousand Dothraki, not including their wives and children who were safely kept in their encampment a ways from the battlefield.
Daenaerys gains 19,000 Dothraki and a Khal
The forces defending Meereen lose 14% men and her fleet loses 11% of its ships
