Tyrion winced at the notion of such a marriage. He would have to try to talk it out of her, if he could. He had never been a lucky dwarf when it comes to marrying, but a marriage ought at least to serve a political end. "Your nephew does not have dragons. You could always deal with him in that way should he oppose your rule - as the histories of the Seven Kingdoms tells us from the Dance of the Dragons, precedent for such things exist. Alternatively you could wed him, as is another Targaryen custom, another accommodation with precedent. Thirdly, wed who you will, and name this Pretender your heir until you produce an heir yourself. In any event, the wars may be ended swiftly and with as little needles blood spilled as possible. As in the days of Aegon the Conqueror, none will stand before you and if they do - perhaps they will get what they deserve. Stannis Baratheon, for one, will probably give you cause enough to see him executed without it seeming like out and out vengeance."
Tyrion shrugged, "I hope to open your eyes to political settlements as opposed to the more fiery and deathy settlements."

"He can marry me, if he wishes"
Said Daenerys.
"I'm of the dragon blood: in Valyria they were not limited as something as menial as monogamy"
Her amethyst eyes look at Lannister.
"If he's worth of it, this pretender shall have my hand. But the throne is mine, not only by birthright, but because like Aegon the Conqueror I have a dragon, a winged stallion to mount the world, like it was foretold in Vaes Dothrak. And like him, I shall have more than one spouse, if they're worthy of sharing my bed and my throne"
She points at Greyjoy.
"Lord Victarion shall be my consort, for he could ride my child and has both strenght and power. We'll see if more husbands will grace my side or not. I need no pretender as my heir, not any appointed successor: I will rule, for it was written in the stars and a bloody radiant comet heralded my coming. In due time my belly will swell and the child of my blood shall be born, a true heir, not a farce"

Tyrion furrowed his brow, surprised at the response. "Aegon the Conqueror did take both his sisters to wife, but not a third." Tyrion replied. The race was on, it seemed, though Tyrion had not wagered on stakes this high - but no bother about that for now. Tyrion's eyes flicked to Victarion. The Queen's mind was clearly made up, but a Greyjoy, whose own kin were in rebellions of all sorts reaching back to distant years? Trustworthy? Not at all. If one had mounted a dragon, even worse. It was already an extreme liability, one which he could not ignore. "Your belly will swell and a child of your blood will be born, yes, but it takes two to make that happen. With so many husbands, how might we know which is the father, and if we could be certain of that, should your belly swell a second time, under a different father, well, the consequences of such an arrangement might be...troublesome."

"It doesn't matter, I'm the queen, mine is the right and the inheritance, who is or would the father matters not. And as long as I have but one husband, it won't be an issue"
She waves a hand.
"I don't need you to remind me the obvious"

"Fatherhood is such a touchy subject." Tyrion replied. "I am sure you are aware of the rumors...the truths...regarding my nephew's fatherhood? Fatherhood is the very issue that may plunge a Realm into war, to the ruin of all."

”Your Grace, I must admit that the Lannister has the right of it. The Faith has only become more radical in recent months, if rumours are true, and they will not appreciate such blatant flouting of custom.”
Barristan offered his own counsel, such as it was. The Kingsguard Knight stood straight backed and stiff necked, put on his guard by several men he did not know or trust.
”As for your supposed nephew, the babe Aegon had his head crushed by Ser Gregor Clegane at Lord Tywin’s command. This is likely some mercenary’s imposter, for as much as I wish the boy had lived it seems too implausible to suggest that he escaped the Sack.”
Who would be capable of such? The story reeked of falsehood. If the true king had lived, Barristan would have known of it.

"All the better then. All have heard the stories of the boy's demise, your father was happy to have it flaunted as a lesson about what happens to those who oppose him, even as he pretended he had nothing to do with it. And if, as Ser Barristan says, the Faith wants no flouting of custom, then all the better if she has taken only me to wed once at the capital." Victarion offered, arms folded over his chest. Not that I put much stock in what your faith of the seven may have to say anyway. And I don't know what game you are playing Lannister, but it hardly seems to be in the best interests of of the queen you claim to have arrived to serve." His dark eyes were narrowed as he looked down at Tyrion.
"I will gladly see this 'Nephew' of yours left shorter a head as well, as your previous husband, that there will be no need for such questions, my queen." He said, turning to Daenarys.

"Not everything my father thought or wished to be true was true. One key to power is to simply ignore inconvenient truths when it is the most convenient. The year Robert won the Iron Throne it was more convenient to think the Targaryens had been removed form power forever. Woe to those who ever believed such a thing." Tyrion concluded. "I do not come to offer convenient counsel, I come to offer true counsel whether it is appreciated or not. Any lickspittle can curry favor by whispering sweet nothings. Tell me, Lord Greyjoy, if a blind woman heard my voice and told me that my face must look lovely to behold, would that make it true, or change the truth of things? Why no, quite not. I could even let her feel the features if she doubted to offer proof."

"I care little for your riddles, Lannister. The Queen's decision should be that which is accepted by the realm, and I intend to support whatever decisions she makes." He had known the smallest Lannister was a man of words. Victarion disliked such men. "For my part I'll be letting the queen make a decision. If you stand in the way of that decision, I will ensure that you wind up even shorter."

"Riddles? I do not speak in riddles." He retorted. "Although I expect to the simple minded, mere courtly talk may be considered as such." He decreased the speed of his speech dramatically, in a mocking tone. "This...is...simple...advice...perhaps...do...not...rise...in...rebellion...when...the...previous...two...rebellions...failed..." he ended, as some within the hall laughed. "This is the counsel I would have offered your fool father. But tell me, Greyjoy, are you prepared to slay your own rebellious kin as I have already proven myself to be?" Tyrion knew this Greyjoy was a blunt object, only something to be unleashed. "I will deliver the Westerlands, my brother, and my sister's offspring - all of whom shall prove no further threat to the Realm. Can you say the same of your family?"

"Enough"
Said the queen, with a gesture of her raised hand.
"I shall not hear more squabbling. This reminds me why sometimes one can trust the smallfolk and not the highborn, you're too easily riled and prone to fight each other"
Her eyes look at those present.
"If my so-called nephew wants, he can bend the knee and keep Dragonstone, for all I care. Or, even, he can rule the Bay of Slaves on my behalf, with princely honors. But, the Throne is mine by right, so this mummer's dragon will either yield or die"
Her voice left no room for arguments.
"Now, we shall wait the reply of the Ghiscari or we will crush them on the field on the morrow"
She turns to Victarion:
"You brought sails, tell me on the earnest how many men can we carry to Volantis"
Then to Lannister.
"You're of sharp wit, Lord Tyrion, you have to account how many men I have, and coin and steel and horse, this is but your first task as part of my council. And you, ser Barristan, find me the noblest and most loyal among the Mereenese, men and women both, to establish a ruling council"

Barristan bowed and left, later returning to the Queen when the council was over. The embassy to the Ghiscari had returned, and peace had been rejected - New Ghis demanded the settlement with Meereen to include substantial reparations to the Ghiscari slavers. It also demanded restrictions on the city militarily that would reduce it to a mere vassal of the surrounding cities. With a Volantene fleet en route to the city, the Ghiscari were apparently preparing for another attack on the gates.

Victarion bit back sharp words about the meaning of rebellion when one has a rightful claim and turned to the queen instead.
"There was room left on my ships, so another few thousand there. Whatever ships we can gather together from this harbor, plus a few Ghiscari vessels were captured in the frey can probably account for a few thousand more. Any large merchant cogs will be for the best, they don't have the capabilities or speed of my longships, but they can hold more men and supplies for less effort." Victarion was not a clever man on the whole, but he knew seafaring like few others.
"In addition, ships in Volantis were taking on provisions and I believe they were planning to make for the Slaver's Bay. They were planning to sack Meereen. They will have been scattered to the winds by the same storm my fleet encountered, but there could still be many ships here at any time. It is up to you if we should set sail before them and escape, or if we should hold here and try and take advantage of the ships they have been kind enough to sail to us."

There would be a sally out from the city while the Dothraki flank and rear the Ghiscari. The Queen's dragons coil in the sky, sensing impending bloodshed. --- "I will not run away from my city, least so when I have three dragons"Said Dany. "Aegon never flew away from his enemies, no matter there were three, four even five times more on the field than his own bannermen. Gardener burned with all his kin and these masters will make a poor excuse of an enemy"She frowns. "I'm tiring of fighting shadows and holding back, they will yield or burn"She turns to the courtiers gathered. "I've heard in Volantis the smallfolk pray for my health and triumph, that the Red Priests chant my name and that I'm hailed as a messiah, is that true?"
