”Are we lost, then? What of the Golden Company? Does the King live?”Arianne looked and sounded alarmed. Over the past weeks her belly had only grown heavier, the loose fitting silk and myrish lace gowns now clinging to her body. She wordlessly ordered for her ladies in waiting to gather her belongings with a look and a gesture. ”The city is closed to all who would enter and leave. If we were seen to be leaving, the mob might kill us.”They had only grown angrier in the previous weeks, driven mad by a lack of food. Even the Faith were having trouble keeping them in line. "The king is rendered unconscious by a blow to the head, he's lingering beyond life and death: I'd rather be a thousand miles away from the capital if he were to die"Said Daemon. "I can open the gates to whoever I please, we will leave through the King's Gate, which is close to wall and the safest route out of the city. I gathered a few Dornish still on the keep, including your cousin Nym. And don't worry, your uncle taught me well, if any were to lay a hand on you the city will have one more cripple"

”So now we flee? If Aegon dies I am carrying the next king. What are all these people dying for if I desert them?”
Soldiers, innocents, women and children. They would be the ones who paid the price for her follies, like Myrcella did. Arianne’s black eyes hardened to suppress the urge to weep.
”They are dying for my folly, my wish to be queen. You are right, Daemon. We must return to Dorne, where I can keep my child safe. Find Lord Dayne. He will help us..”

"You knew we were playing a difficult game, one with high stakes"Said Daemon, grabbing her hand. "But, I swear by the old and the new gods, I will never leave you"He added, with burning determination in his blue eyes. "I will return in the earnest, be prepared"

Edric Dayne enters the Queen's Chambers with the Lord Commander, having requested to speak with her about an idea.
Your Grace, I have but one plan that can help us get out of the city.
He turns to Daemon Sand.
Lord Commander, you will wear one of my knight's uniforms and cast aside the white. Blend in with my knights.
That was part one as a disguise. Turning back to the Queen.
My wife only recently gave birth, but the people of the city would not know. You will be cloaked and veiled, pretending to be my wife, who is still with child, while Lady Jordayne, disguised as well, will pretend to be a lady-in-waiting. If it looks like just myself, and my family, are leaving the city, it should not raise too much of an alarm. Once we are in the Kingswood, we can properly flee.

”I will change at once. Be prepared to leave within the hour, my Lord.”
Nodded the Queen, as her servants rushed to fetch her a veil and an ermine cloak. She would not be some vulnerable wench, she was a princess of Dorne, mother of Queens and Kings. Rightful heir to her father. Even when fat with child, she looked a sight to behold, as graceful and beautiful as a queen of song and myth. With some reluctance, she removed her gilded diadem and set aside the most ostentatious of her jewels.
”We are protecting them future of our kingdoms, not just Dorne. There is no oath broken or honour lost in defending our future.”
Her hand drifted over to her belly, the words meant to convince herself rather than the others. So long as the child survived, the rest could be damned. After all had been prepared, the Queen would set out from the keep in the simpler guise of Lady Jordayne, hoping that their exit would draw little attention in a city on the brink of war.

So long as the child survived, the rest could be damned. After all had been prepared, the Queen would set out from the keep in the simpler guise of Lady Jordayne, hoping that their exit would draw little attention in a city on the brink of war. Daemon left white cloak and doublet in the chamber, wearing instead riding clothes like any other Dornish. But he kept the castle steel, one of the finest swords he had wielded, and a long dagger on the hip. Underneath he wore a shirt of mail, concealed below the leathern vest. He was mesmerized by Arianne's beauty as she spoke, truly the world's fairest woman, there could be none other. "Aye, let's go back to your father, no harm will come to us there"Sand didn't leave his mistress' side, riding by her as they left the keep, trying to not lose track of his surroundings, hand ready to grab the sword if trouble decided to pop its ugly head along the way. The child in Arianne's belly was the future of Dorne and the Seven Kingdoms both, a Martell, a sun that would be born on its ancestral abode. But, first, they had to reach the Red Mountains...
